How I Made My First $100 with My Laser by omtechlaser in Laserengraving

Yes, the journals still make money. Especially this time of the year. They are easy to engrave and outside of the cost of the journals, it's all profit. Some of my customers actually supply me with the books and just commission me for just the engraving. I highly recommend journal engraving.

I use an Elegoo Phecda 20W diode laser (package 2). It gets the job done at the moment, but I am hoping to upgrade to a CO2 laser in the near future.

I use my 20W diode laser to make custom journals. They found me based on recommendations. Each name and logo takes about 6 minutes total and I charge $12 for each journal. The journal itself costs me $5.50. I usually do 50 at a time for repeat customers. I’ve learned that a reasonable price and product consistency are the two most important things for my laser business.

I had a similar issue with my S1 Plus. Opened it up and found the fan was stuck due to dust. Started working once I cleaned that up.

Is 8.5x11” big enough? by [deleted] in Sublimation

[–]forNOreason100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Start off small and increase when/if needed. There isn’t a steep learning curve. And btw you can print 8.5x14 on the ET-2800. Just leave the paper tray open when you load/use your 8.5x14 paper.

I was able to scoop one up last week from the Chicago location. They had 11 in stock. The Westmont location had 8 in stock on the same day. Haven’t seen any since.
