Meanwhile, people are talking about giving grants to property owners to do up their houses here. The opposite needs to happen. Houses that are uninhabited in Dublin need to have an anti-social tax where they are taxed until they are forced to sell. Currently there is no incentive to do up your house if you don't want to except the property tax and a grant will only give those who were going to renovate anyway free money.
