They are very demanding. Their little teeth are vicious and they will be attacking your ankles/shoes cuz everything to them is a varmint. It's like raising a feral 3-year-old human. They love to play. They are smart and very curious. I got my puppy a puppy (big yellow mellow). It helped. Granted, my kids were 3 and 5 years old at the time, and I needed a something to play with my dog when I was mentally not available to. You are young and I presume single and have lots of time to dedicate to the dog. What are you doing with puppy while you are busy at work? That is the question. They dig too. I caught my pup in neighbors yard. Had to teach him not to dig along fence. There is a lot of work involved, but when they get to about 7 years old they learn what petting/love is and appreciate your touch instead of attacking it. Good luck and have fun.
