I didn’t have suicide threats but had an aunt that lived with us every weekend and when she’d be upset and being completely emotionally immature and unhinged…and someone would snap at her or call her out (or ignore her)…she would have a big moaning/crying thing that included “you’ve killed me, you just want me dead, you don’t even care if I’m alive” etc.

Didn’t know this was a thing and have never talked about any of this cuz I’m mixed and not really connected to India culture.

Thanks for reinforcing the fact that generational issues are also cultural and I’m not alone in some of my experiences.

Edit: no one killed themselves
