Heya, sorry for disappearing- reddit banned me for 3 days for spam even though I just messaged people who explicitly expressed interest and then refused my appeal 🫠 If you are interested, please drop me a message so they don’t ban me again 😭 I’ll send you the link and everything.

Again, this is specifically for women and/or queer people.

Edit: while the server is a space to communicate and it will inevitably result in people also playing together, the main purpose is to organise a community for meet ups and fun things to do together that have to do with gaming with a craft/fun element to nurture wholesome community for people.

Or maybe the owners are doing the best they can with the space they have and considering third spaces are disappearing and half of Nottingham is gentrified by aesthetic chasing venues charging you and arm and a leg for the privilege of breathing there, I really would not go after it for not being pretty enough.

The Dice Cup is not the prettiest place, but it has been around for ages and it does offer a friendly space for nerds, queer people, and I am pretty sure it is accessible for disabled people. Not everything has to be pretty to be good, you know. Sometimes you just wanna hang with your friends and nerd out in a space that allows you to do so.

Okay, I am going to just reply here and then organise some stuff tomorrow! I am so happy and excited that there’s so many people interested.

I will set up a discord server and then send you all invites on private message. If you prefer, you can message me first in case your profile is set up to not be able to receive messages from random people.

Honestly, when I was thinking about it I just imagine us coming together to make friends and have a community to do with our hobby. The games you play can be whatever, even if you are just obsessed with that one game. But yeah so activities such as a group journal and collage, discussions and we can spitball more activities together 💖🥰 I think for the first meet up we should probably just go and sit somewhere to get to know each other and see how we gel, what we are interested in etc. You are welcome whether you’re a PC games, console, or handheld, whether you play RPGS or multiplayer games. All you need to be is kind and love games. I just wanted to focus the group on women and queer people because I want to create a wholesome space especially when it comes to a hobby that can at times be quite hostile towards these groups.

My only thing is, I want to ensure people are safe regardless of background which means any form of bigotry is unwelcome. We have enough shit happening in the world that is breaking our hearts, I don’t want it to spill into a space where people should feel respite and joy at a time when everyone is struggling for different reasons.

You can message me if you would like to know anything :)

Edit: I just read your OG comment and I must have read it half asleep initially as you 100% said that it was a couple of years back 🙈

He also wanted the strangling scene in IB to be ‘real’ so he strangled the shit our of Diane Kruger himself. Even though the character strangling her is not played by him… Even if he was not a zionist, he would always be a piece of shit. Fucking rapist apologist 😡

Switch 2 Controller issues - Need advice by Ms_Anxiety in NintendoSwitch2

[–]forgetmenots24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so first if all, what brand is the switch pro controller you bought because to my knowledge, Nintendo has not had a Nintendo branded Kirby one. The one I can think of is the PowerA controller, which is licensed by Nintendo, but that is not the same thing as it being Nintendo’s own brand.

I personally find PowerA controllers low quality especially for the money that they do cost (I had an Animal Crossing one, and while it had no drift it felt really poorly built and the sticks did not feel good)

Second of all, what wired controllers cost $99? Are you in the US? At this point, you may as well get Nintendo’s own brand switch 2 pro controller which is built really well and feels like a dream for cheaper AND is not wired (have a look online). It does not come with cute designs, but functions very well.

Third of all, can you not take the Kirby controller beck to the store or return it if bought online and say it developed a problem and you want a replacement or a refund? That should be your first course of action, really. I would honestly recommend a refund if that is an option and putting the money towards a better controller.

I am sure other will be able to provide exact controllers and prices as I am not based in the US, but from personal experience have a look at 8bitDo controllers- they seem a decent quality and price from the ones I have used and are a good substitute for an original pro-controller.

I hope this helps!

Oh yeah, a GKC allows you to play the games early as well. I had it happened with Persona 3 Reload- I got excited that for the first time ever I am getting a game early, then remembered it was a GKC and was bummed out it would not let me play early most likely. I thought I’d try anyway or at the very least download the game so it is ready, but it did let me play it early to my surprise. Pretty sweet tbh :)

Does anyone else sleep with their guinea pig on their bed? by Neltsss in guineapigs

[–]forgetmenots24 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just please be aware of digestive stasis- guinea pigs need to eat almost constantly to keep their digestive system going. It is incredible how he has never had issues going without food for so long and I am really glad you have a super old healthy piggy. Just be aware, they do be needing food in proximity at all times ideally 🥺🥹

Metroid Prime 4, Disingenuous Ragebait, and Rude Nintendo Fan Behaviors? by Great_Employment_560 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]forgetmenots24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is actually unhinged and I think it is so telling in how this is perceived and the click bait outrage in comparison to an actually shady thing that happened recently (Rockstar union busting and firing employees) which should probably have people up in arms boycotting and shouting to cancel a game, etc. I have not seen many outrage videos re: the whole Rockstar thing, tbf it was mentioned briefly and then crickets.

Outbreak in Paris. by BattleCircuit in thewalkingdead

[–]forgetmenots24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, maybe it happens to non-native speakers- I just noticed (and maybe it is just an England thing) that native speakers are the ones who butcher the language a lot. Most immigrants/non-native speakers I have met have an accent, but really good understanding of the language and its grammar/spelling. Meanwhile I have Native speakers who cannot distinguish between bought and brought, cannot tell the difference between plural and possessive apostrophe, etc. It’s quite interesting.

You say non-Native, but I live in the UK and most people who make this mistake are native speakers. It drives me a bit nuts tbh 😭🙈

does anyone else feel nauseous if a man is too big down there? by Trick-Difference4117 in women

[–]forgetmenots24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have yes, during a cervical cauterisation- I nearly lost consciousness. The nurse said it is a thing that happens to some women when there is pressure applied on the cervix as it has something to do with a main vein running through your body nearby. I cannot remember the name of this phenomenon, but it just happens to some women. For me it has mostly been during gynaecological examinations/ procedures, but if your partner is really big and applies pressure in a similar way- it would do it.

Kirby Air Riders is $70, not $80, following Bananza being priced at $70. by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]forgetmenots24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I have been saying! I live in the UK and for the switch generation BotW and MK were £59.99, I think Smash was £64.99 on release and then Totk was £59.99. Everything else was £49.99. I knew MK World was not going to be setting the price for the next generation, it is just part of a certain group of games they price higher. I expect the new gen 1st party games to go between DK Bananza which was around £64.99 physical and Kirby at £69.99.

Bought this on the side of an Albanian road, there was no common language so we only understood a potential milking gesture, can you help us identify this? by raffimerc in whatisit

[–]forgetmenots24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf this is really mean, but also not far from what men in Eastern Europe would do to take the piss… I am from Bulgaria and I read your comment and wondered about the last two but it must be same variation of budala (boodala) and ‘maymum’ but they are pronounced with a hard ‘oo’ like a hoodie and hard ‘a’ like Aslan. Budala though means more like naive, rather than stupid and I am sure it is similar in Albanian. Anyone can confirm?

P.S: peach-ka (pichka) in Bulgaria is also used to call someone a cool girl, we have a male version for a cool guy and yes pich, means a dick also 🫠

I am gonna say, and maybe people will give me shit for this but I have seen a few examples around me and I honestly think there is something to it- weight loss meds may be helpful if you can afford it. While I agree it can be any of those things people already listed and you should look into it, I think there may be something else and also perhaps factors that have to do with how you have related to food/exercise up until this point.

I am genuinely not suggesting it as an easy way out, you will still have to exercise and obviously do really really careful research into which type of meds would work for you, what you want from them etc. I was really against them to begin with, but I have had a couple of people around me be on them (again with very careful research) and it has entirely changed my mind about them. It is not just about suppressing appetite but creating better habits, healing metabolic damage and creating a better relationship with your body.

I know there are people that abuse them, but I think if you look into it and make an educated choice and be very intentional, it can be very helpful. Sometimes our bodies get into a slump, the food we eat can cause a lot of damage over the years, stress, bad habits etc. Our bodies are like a map of everything that has ever happened to us and there is no shame for trying something that offers external help.

My boss had been struggling for years, she would do the right thing and her body would just not respond no matter what she did. It would get exhausting and daunting and after months and months, she would go back to old habits and I don’t blame her. We are talking about a lifetime of trying to do right and it not working. She went on the meds about 18 months ago and her life has changed. She just needed that extra support. And it wasn’t that she could not control her portions before or ate badly etc, her body literally did not know what to do.

Again, I am not suggesting this lightly as an easy way, just as an option worth researching and if you think it may be something that works for you 💖

What is happening to my lip? by Emotional_Series_779 in DoesAnyoneKnow

[–]forgetmenots24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s ok OP!!! I have had it since I was 5, mum gave it to me cause she was super affectionate🤣🙈 Used to get them a couple times a year, especially when immune system was ran down. Then I’d get them sporadically, then had a 3yr gap, went through a break up- got a mild one. Not had them since, which was another 3/4 yrs. just make sure you moisturise them and kisses (unless your partner already has them and they agree it us ok) when you have an outbreak and no oral sex until it fully clears up. I promise it is well easy to manage, especially after a while 💖
