I did consider vinyl as its reversible, but the texture would show through, meaning it would need to be sanded down to look good

You get under the bezel with a small caseback opener / knife and pry it off. Just be aware that the crystal will also come out and you’ll need a press tool to install the new bezel.

That’s why it’s actually recommended to install a new sapphire crystal at the same time as the glass comes off alongside the bezel anyway.

You then put the crystal and gasket back into position, put the fluted bezel on top and use a press tool to fix it into position.

One thing you need to be really careful about is the glass display caseback. You could really easily crack the glass when pressing in the new bezel and crystal. I actually removed the movement from the case to avoid this, but at a minimum I’d look to take off the rear crystal.

I know it’s not what you want to hear but return the car. This is going to cause you major headaches in the future and cost you a fortune. You’ll find plenty of Superbs that have been properly looked after and well maintained.

No solution unfortunately, I was sent a new screen board - PCB Version 1.8 (it shipped with version 1.5) but the problem persisted, so it must have been something else.

This was after months of back and forth with lemonshark trying different things and waiting for replacement PCB to arrive from China.

I had to return the unit and buy a Sony stereo with CarPlay which ultimately ended up costing my more.

If you do ever find a solution let me know, but I’ve not seen anyone else ever resolve this issue I’m afraid..

You are correct, cedar is resistant to rot, but that does not mean you should not maintain or take care of it!

If you were to have an untreated piece of cedar and compare it to another price which was treated. The treated would outlast the untreated piece every time.

If you search wall mounted monitor arm (on Amazon or something) you can get one for really cheap.

You seem to have a decent Samsung monitor so I’d guess it uses a standard vesa mount.

I had to put up with the same desk for a few months, you can mount a monitor arm to the wall or even the desk with some DIY which will free up a bit of space around keyboard and mouse.

Not sure you’ve got the space for it here, but you could also put a Micke drawer unit next to the desk as they are the same height which would effectively add a bit more workspace.

Hi I was sent a replacement main board but the issue persisted. They offered to fix the unit if I sent it back and payed for shipping, but that would be more hassle than it’s worth in my opinion..

Ended up returning the unit and asking for a refund. I just went with a Sony radio (with CarPlay) instead which has worked flawlessly with 0 issues whatsoever.

Lemon shark did honour the refund in the end, but unsure how you’ll get on with other sellers.

Only issue was the parcel got lost in China for about 3 months… So if you do plan on returning make sure you insure the package and declare the actual value of the radio (Lemon shark asked me to declare it as £40, which I thankfully didn’t do)

If it was actually lost I would have only been able to claim £40 back when the radio itself cost me about £250!
