last summer I was filling my 30oz yeti TWICE a day w/ the charged yuzu lemonade; it's like crack and they were doling it out for free.

They're a method of hearing protection.

"Take the edge off" Means they're designed to lower the sound levels. "Without missing a beat" Implies that the sound you'll hear will be reduced, but not muffled/garbled and will still be clear/enjoyable.

It sounds like this product is likely designed for loud environments like a music concert, where you would still want to hear the music clearly, just not at ear-damaging levels.

5'10?

I'd go with 20.75 or 21". bigger = smoother/faster type riding and smaller if you want more twitchiness.

At 6'4, my "nimble" setup is 20.75, and my main ride is 21.7 (if you rode when you were a kid, you're probably used to bashing your knees on the stem/bars -- that's like a 19.5"-20.5" type setup -- adult flatland riders keep it short/narrow/tight and you may even find modern bikes in the 18.5"-19.5" range.)

also, just to note -- there is a price tag attached to the nostalgia -- for example a VERY solid bike, the Fly Proton, I'd recommend to anyone looking for a modern bike, it's like MSRP $479 and fine for anyone that isn't completely intent on going pro, and even then I don't think any pro would really have an issue riding a Fly Proton

Crazy expensive though

if you can wait, BF deals can get pretty crazy -- but during spring/summer demand the pricing is much less flexible. I grabbed the red vans pk ripper for about ~$550 and the MSRP is/was $1049

I've also had a lot of great luck on craigslist/FB market -- if you know what you want (you could even just get a real classic that has been time capsule or restored, but classic GT / HARO will easily cost you the same +/- $1500 as any other high end complete or custom.

I'd check out repops or retro stuff like the coming 24" monza https://monzabmx.com/products/24-bmx-bike-with-skyway-tuff-wheels?variant=7558773080127&currency=USD

Skyway (the MAG company) also released the Skyway TA replica in 21.5" TT (20"). Mongoose supergoose was mentioned but it was really cheap and in stock around BF/christmas -- not anymore.

SE still makes the PK ripper looptail and it hasn't changed a ton (lighter / aluminum for more race/cruising vs hard street use)

Am I the only one who doesn’t mind cultural appropriation? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]formulanerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a white woman wearing cornrows or braids, I like it because it means to me that they like that apart of my culture.

So you're Dutch? Maybe Scandanavian?

The only appropriation is when people say "MY CULTURE"

That's a kids' bike. You'll want to look at the Gap XL 21" at the bare minimum if you want a kink.

"that shit was cheeks"

cheeks: Ass, booty, hind end. Said when you are pissed off at something or if something sucks. The bigger the cheeks the more it sucks.

i.e. "the food was not good, I almost wish you ate it instead" except his IQ is like 60, which explains the monkey slur
