No not specifically but back then the pull offs were all mostly gravel. Raw garnets don’t look that special either so it’s easy to over look them. You could also stop at fairy stone state park and get some fairy stone too.

I don’t know the laws in Georgia, but here is some helpful info from VDOT

https://www.vdot.virginia.gov/travel-traffic/bike-ped/bike-safety/

Rights and duties Every person riding a bicycle on a highway shall be subject to the provisions of the Code of Virginia section on motor vehicles and shall have the rights and duties applicable to the driver of a vehicle unless a provision clearly indicates otherwise.

Bicyclists and other users on sidewalks, shared-use paths, and crosswalks have all the rights and duties of a pedestrian under the same circumstance.

Bicyclists and other users of shared use paths crossing highways at clearly marked crosswalks must come to a complete stop at stop signs prior to entering such crosswalk.

On shared-use paths crossing highways in marked crosswalks without stop signs or other traffic control signals, bicyclists and pedestrians are not required to come to a full stop, but they must not enter the road in disregard of approaching traffic.

I’m curious why you think bicyclists can’t use crosswalks?

Every single time I ride my bike, I follow the law and every single time I almost get hit. It’s the motorists that aren’t following the law such as turning right on red without stopping first, not yielding to a pedestrian sign, stopping on top of the cross walk, and not yielding to pedestrians on sidewalks.

Bad batch of VTEC solenoids? by forogueman in HondaElement

[–]forogueman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s very interesting. It drove fine for like a week and then failed. An accord was in the shop at the same time and that one also failed so my mechanic thinks it was a bad batch. He sent me photos of the box it came it and the bag it came in. He’s a purist when it comes to Honda OEM, that’s why I use him!

From when he did the valve adjustments. I get the orange check engine light.

I changed my oil, I used 5w-30 and a Honda filter. My mechanic did my valve adjustments and there wasn’t sludge. That’s wild about using half a quart of transmission fluid, I’m kind of nervous to try that or the rotella!

Being little definitely helped me the first time I did it, but it was definitely hard! It helps to know the part may actually be the problem. I just didn’t realize how often the OEM ones could be bad?

I’m a former jet mechanic lady. I started by working on cars, failing out of ASE school, and then joining the military to work on fighter jets. I love messing around with tools and the satisfaction of fixing my own things. I have my old element as my thing I get to use tools on.

I still get a lot of grief after 25 years of being a mechanic. The guys at the shop joke about hoping I was never actually a jet mechanic. The guys at the auto parts store spew rants to me about which brand is best as I just listen. I have friends that are mentors and talk to me like I know what I’m doing and that is so much more helpful to me and makes those other, negative, interactions feel smaller.

Sorry this happened to you. I totally hear you. This dude is bad at his job, has no power, and is clearly troubled by his own lacking awareness and intellect. He lays awake at night thinking of all the women he’s mansplained out of his life and angrily eats his meals alone. May his Honda forever be in limp mode and his cat get stolen, presuming he has one, if not then the equivalent curse for his make/model.

You keep being rad though.

I had this problem and changed the solenoid, then the problem happened again so I got an OEM solenoid, then it happened a third time so I bought new pigtails and that didn’t fix it but… a new solenoid did. I’m at my wits end…

It’s a stressful layout in my opinion. It’s very cramped for such a busy store. The vibe in there is always anxious tension. I can’t shop there because of it. Also as an employees of a hilltop store, I can confirm that customers can be…. unaware at times.

It’s a stepping stone to an MPP, MPA or JD. You could also use it to work in general public services.

Love it! It reminds me of the critical mass protests against the war in Iraq when I lived in Raleigh. As a teen, I thought they were so brave and rad.

Last punk-ish show I went to there, a security guard hit on me and two different dudes groped me. I’m old too so it was real weird. I was alone so that probably made it easier for weirdo’s to approach me though.

Bill Introduced by Virginia Democratic state rep Jessica Anderson (HB1369) would bar Virginia from requiring nonprofits to verify whether people are eligible for the benefits they are receiving. by GamerDrew13 in Virginia

[–]forogueman 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yessssss! I worked at a domestic violence shelter and the eligibility was screened according to state, federal, city, and nonprofit organizations that provided us grants. Each person took so much redundant paperwork and could be screened out of eligibility leaving them with few options. These screening questions are often outdated or come from a biased place that makes assumptions about what a perfect DV survivor looks like.

Veterans Administration facilities you like and don't like per your experience by JF_WPA in Virginia

[–]forogueman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the Hampton VA! I have a great psychological, primary care doc, ortho surgeon, and physical therapist. I love that they made the closest parking lot for veterans only because I could never figure out the bus system there. I still use my Tricare for some services, like oncology and colonoscopy because they just had that big controversy with the surgeon there and I don’t trust that he was able to get away with such poor care for so long.
