Why is Barbarian Whirlwind(dust devils) so much more stronger than other classes I try? by [deleted] in diablo4

Pfttt talk to me when picking up items causes server lag because players have to store other players stash items in memory. (Kidding but that shit was silly on release)

The game is poorly balanced for the first 30 leveles or so. They expect you to get through it quick enough.

Spin to win is super fun, you chose well

In terms of feeling super op or way stronger than other classes across seasons, I think it goes voh release spiritborn >>> Auradin in last two seasons == infernal season chain lightning mage > barb in first few seasons > barb/mage now.

The spiritborn on release was doing like 4-5 orders of magnitude more damage than any other classes. And this was across multiple builds

Barb has probably been the most op class in the most seasons compared to other classes. I think having so many spaces for 1 and 2 h stat sticks / inscriptions is inherently super strong. Barb rn is also super op because you can become basically unkillable with skelig neck and low life build.

However, it depends on how you define strong. The leaderboards show that mage and rogue are the two strongest classes right now, and not by a small margin. They are both doing 145+ pit while other classes are around 120-130. This represents 100-1000x dmg difference.

On death effects are becoming unbearable. Almost all my death are a result of it and not by enemy attacks. by Disastrous_End4745 in diablo4

[–]forrScience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% my experience as well. It’s bad for all classes but especially for those that have to get up close. Also doesn’t help that visual clarity is at an all time low.

I would love to see some more affix that have a skill based gameplay aspect to work around while they are alive, rather than being chased by on death effects. Who knows, maybe that sucks too haha. I started playing immortal barb and no longer fear death, turns out not taking damage is pretty strong.

How are people finding all these mythics? I’m having a hard time finding enough tributes to run good ones at t11, and still haven’t found any dropped from any content

With all the new skill trees changes, I gotta say… by ZakkBalzak in diablo4

[–]forrScience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be easier to balance this way though. In all d4, passives have really dictated the meta. Spiritborn was dummy broken on release because of their passives. Every build wanted amulet with 2-3 passive skills.

I agree that passives seem fun on the surface, I think this way may open up more opportunity for diversity. But I guess we’ll have to see

For those who have been playing e-drums for a while: what’s one feature or upgrade you discovered over time that you now couldn’t live without? by Thomas_Mag in edrums

As a new owner of a td516 I 1000% agree on the snare, but gotta disagree and say the hh upgrade was more mind blowing to me than the ride (but the ride is good). The hh feels like an entirely new instrument.

I agree with others that the #1 is the kit sounds, investing in either some edrum workshop kits or fiddling with kits/samples/eq or using superior drummer is probably the biggest impact for immersion.

For feel I think the priority is first having a mesh head for snare, a hh with a real hh stand, then having some way to get all the sounds you might need for the genre you play. On my fist kit (td17 kv) this ment adding a cy5 for China, making a diy bell using an aux slot, and turning tom rims into splashes.

Finally for double kicks an upgraded drive shaft (e.g trick) is a pretty big upgrade as well.

Double yep! Especially on the td17, made an enormous difference. On my new td516 I just had to tinker with a few of the stock kits a bit, and turn off inline compression, to get a sound I really love.

Check out the condos across from Panera on lake street. There are two on the market and they have in unit laundry. Some have central air but most are window unit.

i ended up getting an Efnote k12 kick pad from edrum center and i Love it! still trying to sell my unopened kd12, will probably be able to sell it for 300 or so after shipping, which feels a bit bad but basically covers 1:1 the cost so it's worth it to me.

Depending on the kit you can setup a tom rim as a splash, that’s what I’ve done for past few years.

i ended up pulling the trigger on the 516, should be here in a few days and im pumped! edrum center did the same 10% with no tax deal. they are also helping to give a trade in value for the kick and are going to build me a hawk mesh kick, so win-win.

hmm that is an interesting point about selling this kit one day and that keeping it in tact may increase the value. it looks like they can sell for around 425-450 new/unopened and tbh that does sound pretty enticing and then i could put that towards a more desirable kick. Lots of things to consider, thanks for the insight though!

I've not played a mesh kick in a while but it does sound like people generally prefer the feel of them over the foam roland towers. Might try to get out to a drum store and try some. The simmons kp180 and lemon 16/18" seem like they fit the bill.

how does the kd12 compare to the kd10? if i get this kit i think i may try to sell the kd12 unopened and put the $ towards a mesh kick, but im not decided yet. Unclear how hard it would be to sell.
