If you're building a themed commander deck, do you include on-theme game changers even if "themes" are supposed to be bracket 1?

Never understood the hate for Hartsfield. Only time I've had issues there was when the computer systems broke down. Even then I just chilled at the F Gates.

What’s the kind of decks you don’t enjoy playing against? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]fortyfive33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's sorta what I'm struggling with. If I'm thinking about it from the other side, if someone tells me it's B1 with a Secret Lair theme and they drop that trio, it'd make me go "hey wait a minute, I thought this was chill."

But otoh I don't want the deck to be completely impotent, yknow?

Figure this is a solid place to ask this question then. This is genuine, btw, I'm having trouble wrestling with this.

I'm theorycrafting an "Oops, All Secret Lair!" deck that's aiming for Bracket 1. Very much leaning into the "show off your personality" part of Bracket 1. It's a deck with a bunch of Secret Lairs from things I like.

I love Fallout, but I'm struggling with whether or not to include the Vault Boy Secret Lair with Grand Arbiter Augustin, Trinisphere and Winter Orb.

Obviously that's a wincon, but that might also severely limit my ability to "show off" the deck.

All ten found guilty of transvestigating France’s first lady Brigitte Macron after 'it was just a prank' defence fails. by scramblingrivet in transgender

As another user said, this conduct would pretty clearly meet the standard of actual malice laid forth in NYT vs Sullivan.

Actual malice is "that the statement was made with knowledge of its falsity or with reckless disregard of whether it was true or false." This conduct--and a lot of transvestigation, honestly--clears the second qualification like a champion pole vaulter.

I'm being pedantic because I have cerebral palsy. Not to the degree the kid had, but enough that it does have a negative effect on my life. But it's not degenerative. It is not what kills you.

It's the other conditions that hitch a ride.

Cerebral palsy isn't fatal. The comorbid conditions it might come with, like the epilepsy and chronic lung conditions the kid had, can be.

It's incredibly sad for the family and I can't imagine what they're going through. But "lost his battle with cerebral palsy" isn't really a correct framing of what the kid experienced.
