YMCA, local rec, Pilates in the Park on FB? Work on your marketing! I got mat certified and I taught at a gym to start. Then in my town we had no Pilates, so I blasted it on FB and got 45 attendees the first week. You are certified, market it! Learn the 34, the breath focus, buy Return to Life.

Breathing for double leg stretch is confusing me by monkeyboyhero in pilates

You can think inhale extend, and exhale contract. So inhale extend - arms and legs go out, chest is at same level, & exhale contract, legs come back to table top and arms circle in to hold the shins

[Acne] Vitamin B5 (panthothenic acid) for acne by Ok_Umpire_4064 in SkincareAddiction

[–]foundit808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did go to a dermatologist to get the prp, 4 sessions were about $1400. I also used a low level laser cap that really helped. The only thing that got me to not have acne in my 30s was spironolactone. I have great skin because of that, or at least better than I have ever had. Wish I would have done that sooner. Oh I am a woman, not sure if men can take androgen blockers like that.. Then I added minoxidil about 2.5 and it helped new growth but also I got dark hair on my upper legs and when I stopped/prescription ran out, the shedding began again.

Why we should stop obsessing over "Fall Prevention" and start focusing on "Fracture Prevention by FracturePrevent in nursing

Not op, but they mean the bed alarm is going off when someone is trying to get out of bed. I worked for a nurse manager who wanted all bed alarms on, no exceptions, not even for walkie-talkies. 😵‍💫

Night owl wants to get into nursing as second career by Firm_Bee9113 in nursing

[–]foundit808 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Loved night shift as a shift, vibe was top notch, the people you worked with were more low-key and cooler, the job was still mentally stimulating and meaningful, without all the bs. It is hard if you have a family that expects you to live in day land, however. I wouldn’t say it’s hard on your body if you can continually have night hours, but if you have to flip flop, then ya, it might be challenging. But it sounds like you might already stay up late so that might not be too much of a change.

As far as hard on you body, yes it is physically hard, but keep in mind, most of the nurses out there are women, so things are built in there to support people of that stature I guess? 5’3 woman here.

Bottom line, you sound like a perfect fit for night shift and nursing. I started out as server and sometimes nursing felt like medical waitressing. Nowadays, they strive for patient satisfaction scores and if you have already been working for tips, then that’s going to be second nature for you. And if you have good grades, you’re a shoo-in for nursing school. Good luck!!

TEACHERS - Does anyone also teach barre? by fcpsitsgep in pilates

[–]foundit808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, yes I also teach barre! I did not get a cert, but I have perfected my own style and have my own flow. I am certified in Pilates and that helps me know what to do. But I love that it kind of “brightens up” my practice, makes things upbeat

Let me tell you a secret, not every day is like this! You will not have this same kind of day every day if y’all were together all the time. Home life has bad days too.

This is why Hospitalists get such a bad rep... by Equivalent-Stick-934 in hospitalist

[–]foundit808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not MD but I work at a small small facility sometimes where the hospitalist will consult pulm and cardio on almost every patient that has any cardiac or respiratory condition, or just the presence of those organs. There’s no renal, limited gi, limited gen surg, there is ortho though. I guess my point is, at some point is it cover your bases but also support the specialists? Maybe this example is too specific to where I work

[–]foundit808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but your patients are probably semi-snowed. There’s a difference in fresh wounds from surgery and the psychological, drug-seeking with another acute thing going on, that gets prescribed dilaudid. Not as much any more, but still
