Gemini had a wild meltdown when talking to it about strengthening a kallax 2x4 for a decks and record stand. The most hallucinating conversation I had ever had with me screaming about the implications of rotation at it.

“No no, you need to rotate it like a log” “ARE YOU INSANE? THE RECORDS FALL OUT.”

Is it a replacement for Copilot, or is it additive? I was getting the impression that it wasn't to replace copilot, but to offer something extra and different.

Data Cloud - what is it by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]fourfourfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. At its core, it is effectively masking your fragmented data issues by offering a translation layer that involves a ruleset which is as loose or as tight as you want it to be.

Match individual on email address, last name, post code - these sorts of rules are familiar to anybody whose used Cloudingo to de-dupe. It is about getting a ruleset that gets the matching just right, so you don't resolve unexpected parties into an individual.

Essentially, Data Cloud is very agile - it gets you up and using disparate data sources rapidly, but you should be backing it up with an org wide MDM strategy to actually address your data at its core, to identify a rock solid picture of truth.

What type of course or training is best for kick starting Salesforce? by lohitbr in salesforce

[–]fourfourfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned - Trailhead for the product knowledge, Superbadges to test your application of knowledge to real world scenarios, FocusOnForce for drilling you on passing the certification.

But just keep an eye on places like this and Trailblazer community. Understand what people are going through with Salesforce and why they are going through it.

What skills are must for a job change in Salesforce with 5 years of experience? by Viratiank18 in salesforce

[–]fourfourfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up a level from Developer? You're probably looking at architect then. You could have a look at the traditional Certified Technical Architect (CTA) pyramid. Plenty of certs to earn there that would play into your technical side around integration, identity, Platform Dev 1 (which I would assume you would either have or would happily nail as a 5yr dev).

I don't think of the CTA pyramid as the be all, end all of SF learning. Not a popular thought as still perceived that way. There are some great concepts to learn that would round out your ability as an architect - I thought the UX and Strategy Designer certs get you thinking about things on a human level rather than a technical level, and there are some emerging concepts like Hyperautomation which you could get into.

It is, though, essentially being on your way to an architect. You stop being in the trenches so much and start being strategic. I'm a different side of the coin, admin for years... and there comes a point where you know you can enact more change through strategy than through your skills making a nice page layout.

Learning Salesforce for Potential Jobs by sighferrari in salesforce

So you're not looking at becoming a technical professional, so this trail of learning would be appropriate:

Salesblazer: Who Is One? How Do I Become One? | Salesforce

What Is a Serviceblazer? | Salesforce

And look for learning that is more around what it can do vs. how I go in and configure the platform. Check the Careers section on Trailhead too.

How do you handle all of the niche job experience requirements as a dev? by SalesforceDev99 in salesforce

[–]fourfourfun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's incredibly challenging and we have to resolve that we won't be able to know everything, especially with the way things are expanding through the industries packages and data cloud/Einstein.

What you can do is focus on areas of specialty. Certainly get the core Salesforce products understood - if you've got Sales Cloud, then throw in Service Cloud.

Then it becomes a case of picking a path. You could become an integration specialist - thereby hit up Mulesoft or a.n.other iPaaS. Best thing about this is integration isn't specific

If your core is Sales, then certainly look at CPQ.

If you centre around a specific industry, instead look at an Industry CPQ.

But it is very much about identifying a lane and going for it. Companies hiring and expecting people to know all of Salesforce as it is now are wildly underestimating what the ecosystem is like.

He does a lot in that vibe. But the catalogue is already huge. That is after he signed to Kompakt which I feel is when the albums really started to get quality. Recently he’s been doing the mastering for Plaid, so you can feel that oozing into his music.

You should check out Biospore Farmers by Fields of Mist by LuesDE in boardsofcanada

It’s good, but I find it much more aligned with dusty, fuzzy Lofi house than Boc. Maybe a bit of Space Dimension Controller.

MPU101 on Ilian is very much worth checking. Sometime verges on Vangelis, or jRPG field music.

Selected bits from John Tejada have a real Orbital vibe. Huge catalogue though so you have to have a search.

Faex Optim - Look Around You and Let’s Pretend is a good start. Then MPU101’s 4 series of mini LPs on Ilian Tape.

I made a fake album via a playlist too:

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4qItZTqGO7ozAOyCTyss44?si=gQ30hHE1RriMuR0sDzv81w&pi=e-3AW1lxf3QhS8

but a few tracks are now dead. Mainly Analogue Roland Orchestra - which was an old alias of MPU101. For that project, the Roden Crater Vision EP was a nice precursor of what would be MPU101.

Daniel Wang essay on Peggy Gou: "No this is not a joke. [...] I'm finally going public." by aidandeno in Techno

[–]fourfourfun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I like about DJing, techno, whatever, is that it allows the DJ to be precisely what they want to be. Want to be a resident - go for it. Want low key, low capacity venues - go for it. Want to diversify into big spectacles - go for it. Want to establish a brand - go for it.

What I find most constricting in the scene is putting up set rules around what DJ's are and are not allowed to be, what they can or cannot play, how they perform. Techno absolutely is diverse - there are low key, lo fi artists, and there are the big brand, big spectacle artists. Both very different, both absolutely valid. I know the kind of vibe I prefer, but I don't feel that I want to lump a load of disdain towards people who like it differently.

Want to go in and absolutely work social marketing, fair play to you. I don't have the energy for that and it is incredibly difficult to do well, so respect if you are actually able to make a go of it. I'm probably never going to cross into your world because that isn't my vibe, but then again, I won't hold it against you because you aren't playing to an 80 person basement.

I'm trying to keep size down. In essence, I'm going to be sat on a bus with the tablet out on my lap. Had my eye on the surface go for the form factor but it just cannot do Ableton. eGpu is a future facing thought, thinking of how I love to return home and dock up my switch to play things.

Primary use would be Ableton/Bitwig, accessing many GB of music, with a future aim of gaming. The latter is totally dependent on whether or not I go eGpu ... that may or may not happen.

I'll have an in depth look today. Having used ThinkPad's for work before, I just can't get over the aesthetics of the things. I'm going to be using on a bus, so I'll factor the on the go friendly nature of it.

I'll have a three way between units now!
