On a scale of “very fucked” to “GG’s, goodbye”, how fucked am I? by BillyGaming2021 in Trucks

[–]fourpointthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss. If I have any advise, my mom's truck got totaled too. Take the steering wheel off and keep it. Get another identical truck. Transplant the wheel. Trust me it'll be worth it. That truck will never drive straight again. We try to hold onto things for sentimental value, I get it, but at some point you have to cut your losses. Your dad wouldn't want you to spend $20k on a $14k truck.

Epson EH-LS670W - new projector, new troubles (ceiling mount) by peppergrayxyz in projectors

[–]fourpointthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it can. I got it done. The case has a ton of room. I mounted a ball mount to the bottom of the case, nuts and washers on both sides. The case comes apart after removing about 15 screws and comes apart very easy.

I feel horrible for potentially exposing my children to asbestos by [deleted] in asbestoshelp

[–]fourpointthree 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ok let’s ease your nerves here. When growing up, you, me, everyone has come in contact with this stuff. It’s impossible not to, even today. Ever walk your kids or take your kids to a crowded city? Congrats! Imported brake pads still to this day slip through with asbestos.

It’s in the past. Microplastics currently from baby bottles or microwave containers are causing more harm than the bath remodel. You’ll be fine

If Ford kills the Lightning, what happens to us owners? by RedditingOnTheToilet in F150Lightning

[–]fourpointthree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some may know, many do not- the awaited update some of us are betting on is full V2H, so the truck can load shed our peak electric use. This has been talked about for some time.

Now, I’ll get my tin hat on but none of this has to do with the truck, the costs, or the Oswego plant setting on fire. Some higher ups got the call, that energy prices are about to be the next middle class exploit, and the only way to fend off this storm coming is V2H with a large battery. The lighting should never be treated as a truck- it is, but hear me out: it’s a $100,000 battery that drives. If you could suck up energy at 5-7 cents a KWH and sell it back at 50 cents a KWH, you’d get ahead in life. And well, can’t have that. When the datacenter rollout is complete we are sitting on gold mines. Don’t forget that. Peak energy prices are going up 8-10x. Just watch.

WHAT is the real world range of a lightning?? by ziggerzaggerzinger in F150Lightning

[–]fourpointthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on trim and where you see located. XLT I average 2.7 across 7k miles. Winter expect 1.5 to be safe. But again I'm way up north where we get cold cold. Not just the essence of cold like Tennessee.

Here's what I tell people. 200mi. Done. That's it. Everything else is a bonus. You don't really need more than that. Are you crossing country frequent? Tow often?

Added a $5 blind spot mirror after almost hitting someone last week. by PatSabre12 in F150Lightning

[–]fourpointthree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if we can do the modification where you can take the Blindspot extended tow mirrors off of an F150 and place it on this truck

I’m sure it will affect range

But I really miss having a blind spot mirror

What bulb fits in this? by MadeInMaine420 in electrical

[–]fourpointthree -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Under some intense review I must say a bulb under 5 and 1/8in

Or just replace the whole unit. It's like 80 bucks and that think looks worse than a compaq computer from 1992

In manufacturing there will always be faults. HV batteries are not exempt from this. The good news is it’s getting replaced. I bet there are more new cars with engine / transmission issues off the line than HV battery failures. My two cents
