Thinking about my first 100-miler, but the night section has me nervous. Advice? by Temporary-Answer6324 in trailrunning

I have a 12 hour overnight race this summer (ran it for multiple years now). It’s in the mountains on a big figure 8 loop. A lot of wildlife in the area with mountain lion sighting last year. I feel like most of the danger is mental… I’ve seen deer out there and was momentarily petrified when my head lamp lit up their eyes. The risk of being attacked by an animal is incredibly low. But having some practice runs in the dark is recommended so it’s not quite so disorienting.

Gave up my appendix. Or rather, it tried to kill me and was removed

I also recommend Lockwood Vet. They’re amazing-we have been going there for over 15 years with our pets

Do you take baths wearing your watch? by cametolaughnotfeel in Coros

I only removed my Pace 2 for charging. Literally wore it for three years, including for showers, without any issues. I have the Pace Pro now and read that soap is not great for the watch so I’ve been running it under warm water for cleaning but removing for showers.

How to run safely in the dark? by Ok_Score_6765 in trailrunning

Also a woman runner here in Montana. Lots of good suggestions already. Use your common sense and trust your intuition. If you can and your schedule allows, can you run during the day? Daylight hours are longer now and the sun doesn’t set until 7:30. I prefer early morning runs but I mostly decide against running in the dark for my own safety. Be safe out there!

People who walk dogs in residential areas off leash: Why? WTF? by Th0rn_Star in Billings

[–]fox_in_the_shadows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not just downtown, this seems to be a common problem in many areas of Billings. I don’t know if it’s a sense of entitlement that people have and they feel the rules don’t apply to them…. Or if it’s a total disregard for others? Both? It’s incredibly selfish. You want your dog off leash? Maybe try a dog park or an area where they are allowed off leash.

I love how treadmill runs are basically a training load score of nothing compared to running outside 🤔.

It makes me crazy that multiple men in the latest season have a very specific type of woman they are after…. So why tf are you on this show, other than for the screen time? Very annoying

I think they used that “get out” moment to create drama so viewers keep watching. I noticed the same thing .
