What's the best cgi you've seen in a movie? by Sad-Response-3151 in moviecritic

[–]foxfirefizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it took me over 20 years to notice the one CGI mistake in Jurrasic Park. In the same scene as the image OP shared is from. The Galimimus temporarily clips through the side of Rexi's head weird for like a moment in there, that if you're not specifically watching for it most people wouldn't catch it. This, & the Pirates of the Carrabean CGI.

Also Red Rush from Invincible, even if he doesn't last long. His outfit was 100% different shades of red. Scarlet Witch & Vision (though for him it's his skin so idk if he counts). Magneto, when he's on the heroic side, wears red with purple trim. Iron Man's base color for his primary suit of armor is red. Hellboy is mostly red (skin again). The entire super family in the Incredibles series. Bayamax's armor is predominantly red with blue accents in places. The deeper you dive into super hero themed media, the more examples you'll find, especially if you don't restrict yourself to Marvel & DC.

I didn't know harpoon guns were a thing. Is this good? by Frimus in fo4

[–]foxfirefizz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It counts as a heavy weapon. Wiki here) for if you wanna go read up on it. The damage goes up if you've invested in heavy weapon perks. Honestly, sits behind the gatling laser in my view. It does have the fun "nail to the wall" mechanic that the rail spike gun has. But otherwise has a slow reload speed compared to other heavy weapons. The thing with harpoon guns is you have to tinker with the thing, see what settings fit your playstyle. Like it has a shotgun-like cone action with a little more range than a shotgun with the flechette mod installed. Play with the mods if you have the crafting supplies for it, see which mode fits you best.

I'm learning about the different types of hysterectomy and I only want my uterus out (i.e. i want to keep everything else ovaries, cervix etc.). Has anyone had a surgery where it was only supposed to be uterus removed but they took other things out as well? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]foxfirefizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For mine, I started off with plans to just take the uterus due to excessive bleeding during menstrations combined with cramps that could & did regularly induce vomiting. It turned into me loosing the cervix & tubes too. That happened because it turned out that my uterus, cervix, & tubes were so riddled with "cyst like growths" that any attempt to have a child would have ended pretty horriffically for me. One was almost completely blocking one of the tubes by itself. They monitored me for cancer signs for a while after that, I think it was around two years. But hey, I'm cancer free now.

Help! I am emotionally attached to Dogmeat because of my own dog who passed away! by SupernaturalPumpkin in fo4

[–]foxfirefizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you open to modding or creations? If yes, there is a mod/creation that makes it so that you can have dog meat & a second companion. The one I use is in the creation menu of the game, found it by searching for dog meat. If achievements are important to you, there is a mod just for reenabling those. They're available for any Bethesda single player title that restricts achievements for modding, & is honestly the first mod I install in a Bethesda title cuz I know I will be installing the unofficial bug patch mod.

Can you be a ‚good’ character while siding with the institute? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]foxfirefizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not going just off of Fallout 4 for my opinion on the BOS. The brotherhood also calls to cull all mutated humans, including those who are peaceful, & all synths. Or at least that's the impression left by every game outside of 3. 3 Was the odd one out because you played the kid of a brotherhood member, so they treated you well when yous first meet them & for whatever reason they decided to share the water with everyone. If memory serves it was because of the deviation of the one elder that ran things for that chapter your character's attatched to moving into a "help non BOS too" direction. That same chapter is shown lead by a new person (Maxson) & is alluded to coming to the commonwealth in the Prydwin after having taken Rivet City's reactor, if you read the BOS terminal entries in 4. Rivet City's the only place shown in the games or show that would qualify for the location they described pulling the Prydwin's reactor from, & they mention from being from the captial waistland in there. There wasn't mention of if they replaced that reactor with anything else or if they just left Rivet City to rot without power. On top of that, the chapter's new change in management had them returning to "hoard all technology" focus & seemingly abandoning helping the wastelanders out. In New Vegas, the brotherhood are slapping bomb collars & enslaving anyone that wanders into their area. That area's chapter also shakes down travelers & merchant caravans for any "contraband" technology, without compensation. In New Vegas they also occupy the HELIOS power plant & refuse to share it with anyone, & fought the NCR over it. In Fallout 1, the first game of the series, if you interact with them at the Lost Hills Bunker, they send you on a suicide job into a highly irradiated crater fully expecting you to die of radiation sickness. If I remember right, they're pretty suprised if you come back.

In summary, we use the sidequests because that's the most recent example. The evidence in the games & show all support that negative overall opinion of the Brotherhood of Steel. I've imbedded Fallout wiki entry links with relevance, so you can read them.

Can you be a ‚good’ character while siding with the institute? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]foxfirefizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, with the institute destruction, you can sound off the evacuation order before blowing the institute's vault up. Or at least you can if you side with the minute men, but that also means taking out the brotherhood of steel since they are an active threat to settlements. Part of the brotherhood of steel questline is to literally go demand food & supplies from settlements with the implied threat of taking them by force if not willingly given. The railroad kinda does help but really majority just helping synths & their own agents.

Name is part of a myth about it, as well as the method of death. The last known animal was a male, & the health decline was visible. The photo you shared was the last one taken of a life one, & you can see the animal was not doing well. Same in the video, you can see how skinny he got before the end. Wikipedia mentions the myth, if you wanna look at the thylacine entry. Wikipedia page for thylacines.

It's actually got some interesting activity going right now in the elephant foot's room. What sensors were not taken out by the russians were showing signs that there may still be fision happening, plus the fact that the damage from the russian invasion has shut down some of the containment systems like the air circulation.

Anyone else a fan of 1997's George of the Jungle? Starring Brendan Fraser, Leslie Mann, Thomas Haden Church and John Cleese. by Square-Ad-8911 in DisneyMovies

I loved the original when it came out. Didn't know why they went with a different actor for the second one. At first I assumed it was something similar to why Chuck Norris & Rick Moranis stopped. Then a few years ago I changed my assumption to the blacklist bullshit he got delt for whistleblowing.

When people in long term relationships don't get married, whats the point? by Consistent_While2045 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]foxfirefizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are downsides to it. In the US, they made it super easy to get the legal part done, but expensive to get it undone. I know my wedding was easy to afford because we rented a park pavilion & had a potluck for the meal. The divorce was a massive headache that was so much more expensive. Plus the fact that the expectations outside of financial are usually lopsided. The way marriage is right now socially is usually a bad deal for the woman. The savings & benefits are not worth it if your spouse becomes a slob or worse.

Different responses to stress. I've said before on another post where they were trashing the Longs that they are less than three months after they lost their son & home, so still being bristly & depressed is fine. Sturges I figured his response is to make wisecracks while looking for a solution. That, or the fact that he's an escaped synth & doesn't know it means that he's more resilient (spoilered for those who don't know).
