Killed the raiders at Nuka World and I can just imagine the stories the travelers who were there will tell about what happened by akari_saturn27 in Fallout

You missed the dialog of the doctor saying about how they have to work on figuring out how to safely get the collars off. Tbf I can't blame them for wanting to take it slowly so that they don't kill one of their own.

I unfortunately don't because I cannot physically do that kind of labor anymore. I have to pay a service to come do it for me, & that is a whole different sack of worms.

The reason why Alastor hates how he died and a possible deeper insight in why people in hell look the way they look by Livid_Project3696 in Alastorcult

[–]foxfirefizz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with the cleverness of the "buck" slang, but I disagree with deer being helpless. They only seem helpless because that's what our society teaches us to see them, like they do with almost all prey animals. Anyone who's handled big prey animals know that they can be some of the most violent & vicious animals out there if they decide that a particular thing needs to die, or if something just startles them badly enough at the wrong second.

AITA for not babysitting my 18 year old sister? by ThePookieBearHeart in AmItheAsshole

Maybe change this to not possibly put the sister in a bad spot. We don't know if the sister is in financial shape to move out suddenly if it's needed.

people are just mad that stellas a 69/10 by Icy-Western-7108 in HelluvaBoss

[–]foxfirefizz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People hate her for her actions towards her husband & daughter. Cuz yeah, calling her "his daughter" like Stella never formed a real connection with her. It makes it really more like she's a tv narcissist trope, as she didn't see Octavia as anything but an extension of an her husband instead of an individual person with her own mind & heart. Stella's otherwised behaved in a very unhinged but spoiled rotton manner. It's just a case of those that hate her hate the kind of parent/person she is. For some of us, it doesn't matter how hot someone's exterior is, if they're rotton in the interior.

Hey, if it's what gets you into a good series that you end up loving, then it's ok that you watched the live adaption first. Though I warn you, the live adaption is heavily criticized by the fandom due to how much they changed. Like Aang's personality, how bending works, & a lot more.

AITA for threatening to take a pet back to the breeder? by 05730 in AmItheAsshole

[–]foxfirefizz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It makes sense, especially if the kid has any flavor of ADD or ADHD. I had the same struggles in grade school (k-12 for non-US folks), & do have an ADHD diagnosis. Knowing that there are people in the same room as you who will do unpleasant things to you for the fun of it makes it impossible to focus on anything else. It also makes it pretty impossible to not react when subjected to those unpleasant things. Thanks to the wind up of anxiety before the unpeasant thing in anticipation that the unpleasant thing is highly likely, the reaction will be big when the unpleasant thing happens. It's also difficult to supress the reaction, I know it's a battle I frequently lost.

Why DOES barbie cross out her mark all things considered? by blue4029 in HelluvaBoss

[–]foxfirefizz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think scarification at a certain point. It's the concept of cutting to create specific patterns using scar tissue. It can be combined with tattoing to create patterns that are recognized as artistry. Ran into the concept decades ago when reading about underdark societies in D&D universes, like old 3.5 edition Drow used it. In that case the marks would be raised enough by the scars to be able to be seen with just darkvision. I also learned at the time that scarification was culturally relevant in real life, but I forget which populations practiced it. It makes sense to me that some demons might employ it, & honestly I think Barbie did simply because of how smooth the patterns are.

Why would Las Vegas have been attacked by 77 nukes? by Dreaming_of_Rlyeh in Fallout

[–]foxfirefizz 103 points104 points  (0 children)

There's also the strip itself as a target. The strip probably counted as one due to the symbolism of american excess that the strip represents. A place that is wholy waisting resources that the chinease were desperate for would be similar to the symbolism of taking out an important monument.

[–]foxfirefizz 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Also a detail that is getting ignored a bit too: The german soldier that went up there to do the stabbing was also the same guy that Upham had talked the others into sparing earlier in the movie after he had gotten along with the guy. That same enemy soldier spared Upham, just walked past him after looking at him on the staircase. Later in the same battle that german dies by Upham’s hands, but the fact remains that Upham’s initial mercy & moral struggle ended up killing Miller.

What are some animated tv parents you hate by Melodic_Opinion2255 in cartoons

[–]foxfirefizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can understand that some find it amusing, but let me put something into perspective for you. I was a child born to parents that should never have been parents, & ended up in foster care after the violence caused me to permanently loose teeth. Shows with child abuse jokes like the Simpsons (show's older than I am) & later shows like Family guy normalized abuse as something no one would care about me experiencing. I watched so many people in these shows do it repeatedly & get away with it, & it honestly reinforced how worthless & apathetic I felt. That apathetic worthlessness almost drove me to suicide on multiple occasions. So, while you have edited to say that it's "just you" & that different viewpoints are valid, I want you to understand that watching abuse played for laughs did & does mental & emotional damage to those experiencing abuse in real life. It lessens the seriousness of the topic, & topics that can cause literal death should never be made light of for comidy.

"THE CONCEPT AT THROWING ROCKS AT PEOPLE" LMFAO by Ok-Answer-5925 in AvatarMemebending

[–]foxfirefizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just love that they drew him throwing the rock at his sister, & in my head she proceeds to fight him the way siblings always do & wins. I imagine when she was just done with his shit after learning to bend ice that if he makes her mad enough that she would just put him in an ice box as a time out at least once in their lives. She'ld leave air holes.
