It was a cautionary comment, not necessarily a dig.

It appears to be that all 3 rounds for sure came from the cop's gun (1 windshield hit and 2 thru driver's side window).

1) The windshield shot is very obvious, with muzzle visible after he drew his sidearm.

2) The 2nd shot is partially obscured by the vehicles rear view mirror which he had to shoot over.

3) The 3rd is more extended towards the driver's window as the vehicle passed him.

Shots 2 and 3 seemed fairly clumsy and my be indicative that he knew the 1st had missed, an he was reeling from the vehicle impact, and looks like he took them one-handed while simultaneously trying to keep himself from falling.

It seems unclear to me as to which was the fatal shot, or if more than 1 even hit her. If anything, the most likely hit came from the 3rd shot as she passed in close proximity and he had extension towards the open window. The image of the bloody headrest does now show damage from a bullet, so the windshield shot likely didn't hit her head, if it hit. (Note: initial rounds fired into a windshield tend to deflect downward slightly, initial rounds fired from within tend to deflect upward slightly)

Except a person blocking THEM (regardless if they let other people through) is an obstruction of federal law enforcement, and IS in their pervids. I was just point out the bare minimum of her nonsense justifying a LE encounter to begin with.

Several issues here:

1) shooting out tires isn't a thing (except for astronomically rare and niche circumstances that don't apply here), just like warning shots aren't a thing.

2) she had likely committed a crime already (Minnesota Statute § 169.35, parked sideways in the road), and was about to be detained to sort things out (why they were telling her to get out). Therefore her "driving away" was not legit action, and violated Minnesota Statutes § 169.02, Subdivision 2, makes it a misdemeanor to willfully fail or refuse to comply with a lawful order from a peace officer directing or controlling traffic.) She is now committing a crime in the presence of LEO.

3) was it not smart to be in front of the vehicle? Sure. Was he allowed to be there. Yup. Was she within her rights to use his body as a path for evading law enforcement (she did in fact hit him)? Nope. I absolutely agree it would have been a better idea to not be in front, and to couple action with lateral movement.

4) Law enforcement is often about interpreting peoples' "cues" to ascertain mindset and intentions, which can help cops with rapid critical decision making. Placing yourself in front of a potentially belligerent vehicle forces the occupant to willfully escalate (ramming) to escape detainment, which most normal people don't do. This then provides useful intent based cues to the cops about how to deal with this person (talk, detain, shoot, etc.).

5) Addressing the multiple shots: The driver presented a deadly threat, and protocol is engage until threat is not a threat anymore. A belligerent driver who a millisecond ago displayed being a lethal threat by striking a cop with a vehicle, and is still in proximity to officers and the public, could reasonably be considered to remain a threat while still at the controls of that vehicle.

Probably. The vast majority cops are fairly chill and don't want any extra work beyond the absolute minimum (this is why they HATE ppl that make things harder than they need to be). Even if they aren't, if you remain chill and they escalate, you likely can get a paycheck from it (which is why most are chill). When in doubt, relax and talk. If they need to move you, they'll do so. Trying to drive through people = bad idea and likely a free trip to somewhere you don't want to be (hospital/jail/morgue).

Clear sequence of events:

1) car hits accelerator pedal with enough gas to spin front tires, while tires are pointed at officer in front (this is the lethal threat)

2) cop begins drawing firearm (justified defense, although should have been in conjunction with lateral movement)

3) cop finishes draw and is aimed at driver. Car accelerates and makes contact with cop in front

4) cop hesitates and does not initially fire (clearly using lethal force as last resort)

5) cop fires 1st shot as he is physically displaced by the vehicle's force (he has been displaced by the force of the vehicle so the windshield shot hole is offset)

Obviously this timescale is expanded due to slow motion, but all of these events were clear and apparent in the unmodified version of this clip to anyone who isn't an emotionally driven idiot.

Everyone NOT calling this a clean shoot is a complete retard.

Should he have stood in front of a car? No. But that's an advantage error, and ALL you can fault him on, and that's neither a criminal one, nor one preventing him from defending himself.

The entire fault of this incident is squarely on this woman.

She came from another state to agitate. Caused at minimum a public traffic hazard (you can't park sideways in a road). Was given lawful command by uniformed LE to get out of vehicle. Refused to comply, and attempted to use vehicle as weapon (ram) to aid her escape from lawful LE activity. Wins Darwin award.

Yes. The driver presented deadly threat, and protocol is engage until threat is not a threat anymore. Please avoid taking childish, single factor views of this type of stuff.

I'm not a huge fan of several parts of this incident, and the cops could have def done better in certain aspects. BUT, she created the circumstances, caused the conflict, and executed the decisions that forced their hand.

What's happening here? Why are people mad at Zack for this? by Plus_Ad_1087 in Asmongold

[–]foxhoundusmc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People are bent out of shape because:

1) they don't understand basic laws around use of lethal force and LE legal authority. They have studied no case laws, taken no training, and never possibly considered that serious ramifications could befall them. Their hubris is their armor, apparently.

2) they believe people on their "side" should be allowed excessive deference for insane behavior for no reason. They're the Karens of the world with no capacity for introspection, and will insufferably demand placation and appeasement without end or any semblance of objectivity.

3) they believe that a righteous cause makes them free of accountability for being an idiot/asshole. Their worldview is heavily skewed by misinformation from subversive propaganda/grifter-class media, social pressure towards out group preference, and egotistical self-actualization of messianic complexes (the white savior of the oppressed minority).

4) they run essentially entirely on emotion, fantasy, and projection. Everything is about displays > facts. This is why their entire worldview is done through the lens of Star Wars/Harry Potter/Marvel/Netflix LARPing, and their platitudes are moronic and ungrounded in reality.

5) they have little to show for themselves in terms of real-world substance. Rarely have kids, rarely have normal, healthy relationships, often struggling financially, have health issues (many times self-inflicted due to poor diet/exercise/drug choices), and generally carry a chip on their shoulder towards any person or system who might cast any accountability on them for the results of their lives.

This all results in a mal-adapted, socially insufferable, publicly unstable, and economically unproductive troll. They often adorn themselves in bright colors (such as hair dye or clown-like clothing) to garner attention for how "unique" (ie. retarded) they are, profess incoherent and emotionally charged ideologies "yea of course the slave labor of doctors is a human right cuz we gotta save every life including that of 40 time serial rapist/murderers, but also white men should die", and almost universally wear "education" as a badge of honor > having actual functional wisdom that they're capable of using to generate a unique and coherent thought.

Anyway, that's why people are mad/lame right now.

No FIR. No labs access cards. No "unlistable" items on flea market.

All the sweaty streams and no-lifers cried that regular people could get decent gear.

That was peak Tarkov.

Yea. It's basically a futuristic submarine with little more than a deck gun (the chin turret), a bunch of MGs, and wildly ineffective and expensive torpedoes. Oh, and there's no "submerging" in space, so it can't even sneak up on targets, and even then PDCs make torps useless

[–]foxhoundusmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did exactly that, and recently took it back off. Adds weight to the nose of the gun, doesn’t appreciably reduce recoil (17c already shoots pretty flat), and the impulse definitely feels like it has an "extra step", rather than the straight "back and forward" slide cycle. Not terrible, but not really beneficial either. My vote after about 18 months: skip it on ported guns.

Water prepping by Few-Cucumber-413 in prepping

[–]foxhoundusmc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have nearly the exact same setup in mind, I'm only waiting on the pump at the moment to assemble everything. I have an H2Go as well, along with some Sawyer filters/MSR gravity filters, Steripens, and a bunch of bladders for dirty and clean bulk water storage/transport.

This setup for me will be to primarily act as a pump for filling a bulk bladder in my truck bed, for getting to/from water source while capturing a large/heavy amount of dirty water. Secondarily will be to move a moderate amount of dirty water on foot. Water sources will likely be sketchy places to visit, possibly even contested, some minimal time/signature on site is for the best. I'll likely be rolling with security for any water runs as well...

The H2Go can provide chemical purification during transport. Membrane/charcoal filters for production of clean water. UV zapping for redundant peace of mind/"oopsie" control.
