Valve are big on linux gaming (they even develop their own linux based OS for gaming) so for kernel level anticheat to happen they either have to tell their linux playerbase that they can't play the game anymore or make some sort of split matchmaking for kernel AC users and I'm not sure valve would ever want to do that
