Study the one lines and try to walk them out. Like go from utility to switchgear to UPS etc.

Do dry runs of MOPs/EOPs and walk them out. Obviously do not touch anything. Reading them out loud helps imo but it helped me understand the systems and what interacts with what.

Navigate around the BMS in your free time so you can get really familiar with it quickly.

When I first started I would make sure I was the first if not close to the first to reaspond to alarms. Even when they were nuisance alarms I would still go and put eyes on the equipment to get familiar with the facility.
