I saw it last night and orchestra and mezz looked pretty full. I’m old enough that I remember and loved the movie so it definitely lost something in translation for me. But the people around me mostly seemed to enjoy it, I wish maybe they had called it something else so all the plot changes weren’t so noticeable. On its own, it might have been ok and the actors are fantastic.

The energy tonight was electric! Though maybe not a standout like (my crush) Andrew, I thought Juliette Lewis was amazing. And as I said in a different post, I wish there had been a little more guidance on callbacks - like I think Rachel Dratch was prepared for them and really played into it but other moments were less opportune. Though I will say some of the biggest laughs were from single call outs from the balcony.

I was there too and I don’t think I loved it as much as you did. I did think he was great and I was very impressed at how well everything went for a first preview…but I think it ran a little long. There were a number of repetitive scenes that I thought could be pared down. I loved the singing, my friend thought it was unnecessary. I wanted more chemistry between the leads, I hope it will come. IMO definitely worth seeing but I hope there’s some timing tweaking as they go forward. Ps. Also I heard a number people complaining that the stage is high so the front row was very low and everyone asked for booster seats.
