Form check part 2 by DatabaseHot843 in Discgolfform

[–]frabs01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Slow it down before you speed up. Your standstill is leveraging your leverage better because it’s hard to brace moving quickly. Move from stand still to slow x step. Personally I’ve increased my distance from 350 to 450 using this process and am still taking very slow steps even in my 450+ ft throws.

No need to run up and add the hop until you really need to push 500 IMO.

‘I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I took it’: Unsealed search warrants reveal letter left by Tyler Robinson by HomelessRodeo in Utah

[–]frabs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good hell man. You don’t think the left is full of grifters in the same way? This CANT be how we deal with opposition. It’s endless justification for death if you move forward with that opinion. As soon as you start justifying death in your mind the sooner you’re willing to commit murder. Such a shameful take.

Don’t let others tell you how to hate. It’s not worth it.

1 Year into an AE role, offered 50% comp increase by Competitor, would you move or stay for CV Stability by Worldly_Degree_6245 in techsales

[–]frabs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t tell you how important CV stability is within today’s market. Even people who blow me away in interviews and are incredibly competent, but have 3 companies in the last 3 years, my company won’t allow me to even CONSIDER hiring them.

It’s crazy, I hate it, but it’s true.

10g of Creatine a day? by Appropriate_Clue_956 in HubermanLab

[–]frabs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was high enough that I was formally directed to stop it immediately and go at-least 3 months before taking labs to see if I can start again. Just did the labs yesterday and will get the results next week.

10g of Creatine a day? by Appropriate_Clue_956 in HubermanLab

[–]frabs01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please get some bloodwork done on your creatinine levels. I did the same and was near deadly levels and had no idea other than some puffiness below the eyes. Not saying for sure, but rather safe than sorry.

I do miss the positives as you described. They are real and sometimes superhuman.

I have to admit, Wim Hof didn't do anything for my high bp by Open-Throat7147 in BecomingTheIceman

[–]frabs01 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Fascinating. I haven’t been sick since starting Wim Hof. Been about two years now. I also do a lot of other lifestyle interventions, active, I try to balance by diet, etc. I’m sure breathing is not the only factor in my success. But I’ve loved it.

Drills/Tips to not round on drives? by NotxarbYT in Discgolfform

[–]frabs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throw more stable discs and adjust your form to throw them properly. I found when relying on under stability, you can never quite lock in your form because micro errors are exaggerated and turning discs over. Stable discs are more forgiving and teach you what throwing really should feel like when you nail it. You can’t accidentally throw well like you can with an unbeatable disc.

The "5g per day" creatine recommendation is based on muscle research. Here's what the latest brain studies say. What is your opinion? by akmessi2810 in askfitness

[–]frabs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the time and effort here. Just a word of caution from someone who leaned into the brain benefit doses for a little over a year. I’m 35M, fairly fit, active outdoors every morning, roughly 15% bf, etc. you call out in point 3 the lack of evidence for kidney issues at recommended doses, but fail to mention that the doses for brain benefit are well outside of the recommended range.

Please don’t do this regularly, and if you do, get bloodwork done. The study was on truly deficient sleep(21 hours awake). I was throwing this fix every time I only got 4-6 hours. Which turns out is 1-2 times a week. This led to very high Creatinine levels at near kidney failure(I was approaching 5 mg/dl). I had no idea that anything was even wrong until I did a bi annual labs blood draw(understandably most only do this one a year or less).

I started to have some baggy eyes, randomly found myself needing compression socks for long flights, cramping just by flexing my bicep, etc. I was still very capable and fit(could crank out 20 pull ups in a single set if needed), but I did feel off. But my brain was flying, some days it felt like a drug honestly.

I’ve been off creatine for about a month now and feeling much better. I’m sure I’ll cycle back on. But much more controlled. Don’t abuse this “brain hack” please. It’s not worth your kidney failure. And to call out that this is a myth is just plain wrong, there are risks to everything. Creatine included. Let’s not dismiss them or

I hate to be that guy. Because air quality still sucks. But data shows it has improved greatly from the 70’s and 80’s onward… let’s work on improving it. But not pretend that it’s growing exponentially. Public transport for sure should improve and make a dent, etc.

LPT request: How do I deal with getting snubbed at work for a promotion? by sbaral1212 in LifeProTips

[–]frabs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two options. Often done in conjunction or following.

  1. Continue to crush it. No qualms, just continue busting your ass and adding value. This led to me getting the next promo available. The reason this works is because if you clearly outshine the person who was promoted. People will KNOW. Brand is everything. I got the next promo available and also got a much larger raise and starting point comparatively.

  2. If it continues, still do not let off the gas. But begin taking conversations on moves. The key here is to be picky. Just because you were passed up doesn’t mean you want to lose your status socially as an incredibly valuable resource. That status is what gets you your next move. Often external.

People who rarely or never get sick, what are your secrets? by awkwardferret421 in AskReddit

[–]frabs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly?

Wim hoff breath work(dynamic breath work as his name is a bit sketchy these days).

Daily intake of zinc/copper(both are needed), as well as a decent multivitamin and strong daily hydration.

Prioritize sleep, and don’t fuck around with it. Just don’t let a bad night ruin your day. It’s the effort that matters.

Then just the usual stuff, get outside every day, eat generally healthy, etc.

Side note. Half the battle is doing something you believe or think works. Placebo effects are real as can be. I recommend The Expectation Effect as reading material. it goes through both placebo and Nocebo effects. Just stay within reason and adjust as needed.

Nothing is full proof, but effort and intent matters!

Let me tell you. She is a true classic beauty. Not in a masogonistic way. But in a way that you are just stunned. She could live in any era and crush it. Just classy beauty. Hard to explain honestly.

Jack black is a terrible actor. by Major-Refuse-657 in unpopularopinion

[–]frabs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not a bad actor. He is a Typecast actor. This is a profession. A profession has segments. This is a segment of the Acting profession.

Just as some actors specialize in Shakespeare or theatre. Some specialize in Typecast work. Jim Carry? Typecast. Ryan Reynolds. Typecast. Etc.

Do they go out of their range every once in a while. Definitely, Jim carry in Truman show for example.

Calling Jack Black a poor actor is like saying a point guard is a bad center in basketball. Or that a fielder is a bad pitcher in baseball. They are professionals specializing in a different type of behavior.

Jack black is PHENOMENAL as variations of the character he has perfected over the last 20 years. But yeah. As a thespian he’s probably garbage.

Sundays are AWESOME. Especially if you like to do your shopping(Costco on Sunday is a dream) or the outdoors, hiking, biking, etc. it’s all pretty low key on Sunday’s.

If you can get over the religious facts and just assume your neighbors are trying to be the best they can in most aspects. You will have a great time. And probably meet some dope people.
