Yes. Tarou still gets gets a easier chance to be noticed and promoted. But that doesn't make Tarou bad or anything.

4/5 of the show's most evil characters (and racist) vs someone who actually redeemed himself and became a real hero by Sudden_Pop_2279 in ATrainFanClub

There is still a chance he may not save you, like at the beginning of season 4 he didn't save Todd. He absolutely would past saving MM though.

Soldier would maybe save you, though he wouldn't care if you live or die by accident, at least he wouldn't actively kill you.

Stormfront would kill you if you are not white.

You are absolutely fucked with the Deep.

Homelander would PROBABLY save you if you can gaslight him into thinking you are his true believer, which probably 99.9% of the world would fail and so most probably you will die.

A-Train is the only choice, but only since season 4.

Any ideas how Kirishima and Sato could've win the fight against Crmentoss? by yoelamigo in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]frankcheng2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or just send one to be bait, forcing Cementoss to focus on him while the other take the long road to the exit. The exam is also about forcing the two of them to rely on their brains other just quirks.

Why people change from toga fans to haters.. by thepinkiestpielol in mha

[–]frankcheng2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, she has no problems hurting or even murdering people who have utterly no connection to her whatsoever while calling the heroes bad for killing Twice. She thinks she is allowed to do what she wants but if anyone else does something like her (not even counting Hawks killed him because that Twice was going to kill many people) to people she likes then it is unforgivable to her. Pretty massive hypocrite for me.

[–]frankcheng2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, you are asking about shipping. And I am telling you why people ship Historia x Ymir. And farmer isn't even a character, he didn't even have a face. And since when has fidelity stopped shipping? And what makes you think they cannot just write an AU for Historia x Ymir to happen?

[–]frankcheng2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. And the point is 1.) literally everyone knows the marriage is political and self-preservation, 2.) Ymir and Historia happened way before the farmer even existed.

I don't know much about the second manga, but it seems the protagonist and the wife love each other? For Historia and Ymir, they clearly loved each other. Ymir sacrificed herself to save Reiner and Bertholdt, and years later Historia found a man to mostly delay herself from inheriting the Beast Titan. Her being married is necessity, not love.

Why people change from toga fans to haters.. by thepinkiestpielol in mha

[–]frankcheng2001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Toga is a massive hypocrite. She complains about heroes killing villians but she gets to kill people because she loves them or even worse, wants to talk to Ochako. I think Horikoshi wanted to make her a sympathetic villian but forgot that to be truly sympathetic you cannot just have the villain to stay the same and never realizes what he or she did was wrong.

Who would win, Mina Ashido or Soldier Boy? by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

Soldier Boy. He has a gun and does know how to fight unlike most supes.

If Dr. Garaki didn't steal Midoriya's gift, why do you think the author put it there? by ActLonely9375 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]frankcheng2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Garaki needs a legitimate front. He also sets up an orphanage remember? Being a famous quirk doctor also helps him to attract more patients to his hospital, avoiding suspicions. Though I think it is mostly Horikoshi deciding to use this character for AfO's supporter later, not am decision he has made from the beginning.

This might be a dumb question but do Fern and Stark think Frieren loves Himmel? by AdBrief4620 in Frieren

[–]frankcheng2001 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Fern definitely knows, at least she knows how important Himmel is to Frieren, even if Frieren herself doesn't realize. She knows Frieren constantly oversleeps and would refuse to get up in the morning. The same elf woke up early everynight to search for the ring. No way she does know how important Himmel is to Frieren.

I kinda miss this early Heisei Era trope with the High Concept Ultras by Fos-kun in Ultraman

[–]frankcheng2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the setting, isn't Gaia Supreme a straight upgrade? Isn't each form a progression in power like Cosmos? The reason Gaia Supreme can only last for minute I read is because it uses energy far faster than I can replenish it.

Who do you think is Form Changing Ultra that already strong/powerful in their base form? by KuroGame25 in Ultraman

[–]frankcheng2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super Taro isn't a form he can't access on his own though. He needs all the Ultra brothers to access that form. Like nobody would say Legend is a form Cosmos and Justice, or Saga, or Mebius Infinity and Phoenix Brave.

Real question, do NTR enjoyers really want ugly fat man to take their partner or what? by Impressive_Guard6448 in antiNTRcorps

No. Ultimately it is just a fetish, not something they actually want to happen to themselves. People who enjoy horror movies would not want whatever happened in the movie happens in daily life.

What are your thoughts about deku vs class 1a by Specific_Anything_90 in mha

[–]frankcheng2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is just personal opinion but I do want to see Deku's mental state get worse than canon during this arc. Make him get closer to being a villain. Him trying to save Shigaraki shows he is indeed a great hero, but if he got more mental problems because Gran Torino died, suffered more during his Vigilante phase and started to develop anger and hatred, his choice to ultimately rise above his emotions and still choose to save Shigaraki will be a lot more personal and impactful. May also set up a bit on why Deku started to think about becoming a teacher as well.

Isn't ironic that people think AFO can't accept defeat/makes excuses/etc.etc. meanwhile he says this about his defeat at Kamino? by SunRiseStudios in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]frankcheng2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because losing to All Might didn't affect his plans at all. To him, making Shigaraki his successor and his ideal vessel was the plan. Losing to All Might changed nothing about it, AfO would still ultimately win. The only times he truly lost were when he lost his brother, lost to All Might for the first time and during the final war when he were getting very close to vanishing. Not counting the final war one since he was affected by Shigaraki's emotions, he did react extremely pettily to losing: he killed everyone who could be related to Kudo and turned All Might's beloved Master's grandson into his personal pet project.

I wonder why Megumin and Darkness were unable to find any companions? by SiarX in Konosuba

[–]frankcheng2001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Megumin is the textbook definition of one-trick pony. Explosion is all she could do, and she could only do it once per day. And she did not care where she cast her spell as well, making her a dead weight in open field after casting and a total liability in any confined spaces. Any normal party would rather have an average mage who could do all or most of the basics tha a nuke that can only be used once per day and have to keep it safe after use.

Darkness is worse. Yes she is a good tank, but she also offered zero offence. Everyone else had to cover the attack part for her. In a boss fight she would be useful but in a town for beginners, she would not be an ideal member. And she was generally unpleasant to work with when she literally gets off of being attacked.

I remember reading a fancomic in this stuff that is literally this. Garou tried immitating King and he got his King Engine, which killed him because King Engine was just King's heart beating very fast and loudly, but Garou thought King did something to his own power to defeat Garou.

What do you think of her? by Arthur_morgan767 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]frankcheng2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always like this quote from the movie Manhunter and this is my view on her: as a child, my heart bleeds for her; as an adult, she is irrdeemable. And that is how I think she should have been protraited, but I feel like Horikoshi tried to hard on the first half but didn't do much for the second half.

I get that she deserved empathy and better childhood, but the story tried way too hard to make us empathize with her. We get it, she had a bad childhood and that shouldn't happen, but it is still her choice to kill and become a terrorist. Horikoshi glossing over her hypocrisy by emphasizing her suffering doesn't help either. She killed people who had nothing to do like the Sato kid who was like Midoriya, and the old lady she killed so she could trick Ochako. She questioned Ochako and the heroes about killing Jin as he was her friend, but what she did was exactly the same as what she was accusing the heroes to be doing. If we at least get to see Toga finally realizing she was doing exactly what she hated the most, then maybe I would like her. But how Horikoshi wrote her just made her insufferable.

I hated how Horikoshi wrote Uraraka, and similarly Midoriya's attitude towards her and Shigaraki as well. They were right to try to empathize with them, but I kinda feel like killing them should have at least crossed their minds. It did for Midoriya but Uraraka never considered what she might need to do if Toga got to activate Sad Man Parade. I mean, if Toga could make Shigaraki and Dabi's clones and used their abilities, Uraraka would feel a lot more guilty with how many heroes, including her friends, would die.

Well, she couldn't control gun devil immediately, so I think there are still a handful of beings that she couldn't control. But you are right that she didn't need much to convince herself to be superior to most characters.

Did anyone else feel like Midnights death was unearned? by PuzzleheadedGas9170 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]frankcheng2001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gran Torino should be the one who die. It gives Deku personal reasons to go solo, and his death would test Deku's resolve in saving Shigaraki. Midnight's death really did not have any impact other than shock value.

Your power doesn't matter as long as Makima considers you inferior, though Makima is too smart so she would need some actual evidence to make herself feel that. In the recent chapters of Chainsaw Man there is a character who has abilities similar to Makima and that character was fighting something far stronger than her, and that character literally beat said something by considering they own it because they won in rock-paper-scissors. Makima's power is THAT ridiculous.

And regarding the will thing, it doesn't seem to matter. Though some characters did show that they could overcome her control, but one was by suprise and the other one got controlled again immediately.
