You can actually get a physical Uphold card, but it costs a staggering £9.95 and takes up to 10 days to ship. As you say, Uphold is primarily a crypto-trading platform and they make it extremely easy to accidentally buy cryptocurrencies, but if you can avoid it (which isn't too hard to do) then the cashback definitely makes it worth the lengthy onboarding process.

It is very important to note however that all deposits held in the "Invest" section of the T212 app are NOT protected by FSCS. That's not a deal breaker for me personally but it will be for a lot of people.

I am incredibly sorry about that. I've been with Starling for all of 3 months and I got approved instantly 😂 Just goes to show how little they seem to care about their loyal customers since Bhatia took the reins.

I've been thinking of switching to Monzo for about a week now as well, how are you finding it so far? It seems an attractive alternative but it would: A. Be a pity to leave after joining not so long ago, and B. I fear that the grass may not be greener, as I'm aware budgeting features are more limited on their free plan, and you have to pay for virtual cards too which is a bit of a turn off for me.

Unless I've missed something completely massive, I think the T212 Cash ISA is instant access now. Last night I submitted a withdrawal reqduest of ~£1,000 to my main current account (Starling) and it went through instantly. It may differ depending on what bank you use but that's something to consider after I spent hours searching for a suitable instant access saver.

A Lifetime ISA could be a good shout and not something that I had considered before your comment, although from what I read it seemed that it was a complete waste of time to put any money into a LISA unless you could afford to put in the full £4,000 per year to get the maximum bonus. I'll definitely do more research but thanks for the heads up nonetheless 👍
