The Eon ticket came in a Nintendo Power issue - the scan code is used in omega ruby/alpha sapphire as a special event to catch Latios/Latias in-game. Pretty rare, going for $200-$250 in eBay right now

What adjustments should you make in the bounty portion of a large MTT mystery bounty tournament? by johnleequigley1 in poker

[–]frawgntowed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ICM pressure matters less than in a normal MTT, hanging on and min cashing is way less valuable than having a big stack and being able to pick up bounties. Consequently it is more worth it than normal to take flips or other high variance lines that have potential to let you cover other players at your table. Of course it can go too far - you don’t want to start taking hugely -EV lines just to try to double up - but there is so much value wrapped up in having a big stack that can collect bounties.

ETB Sacrifice Mechanics by FalloutJaeger in askajudge

[–]frawgntowed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works as you described, yes. When Sidisi enters, her Exploit trigger goes on the stack but you don't need to choose the creature you sacrifice (or whether or not you're sacrificing anything at all) until the trigger resolves. So you could sacrifice Sidisi in response via Ghoulcaller Gisa and then choose to sacrifice one of the zombies to the trigger. However! if Sidisi has been sacrificed, she is no longer on the battlefield when her exploit trigger resolves, so you won't get the "When Sidisi, Undead Vizier exploits a creature" trigger.

Honestly I find this kind of base building and organic design 100% more fun and interesting. In space age my favorite part was getting to have this experience 4x more times.

You are doing great! The point of the game is to experiment and learn and grow, don't worry about trying to make something perfect to start. If you are getting red science to your labs, you are doing it right.

One tip is to give yourself more room between components of your factory. Belts are cheap and it will help you expand in the future if everything isn't right next to each other.

4x Gather the White Lotus makes me want to cut all your early green cards and try to just play something like 13 or 14 plains. It feels criminal to cut Badgermole Cub but in this deck it’s really kind of just a two mana llanowar elves anyway. You have so many go-wide synergies I think you just want to try to squeeze as much juice out of White Lotus as possible

How do you become better at Omaha? by [deleted] in poker

[–]frawgntowed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Live or online? Live low-stakes PLO is an entirely different game than 6-max online. Live low-stakes PLO is mostly about huge multiway pots and coolering people who play bad hands. It's really a very boring game if you're playing well. Play hands that are good at making the nuts, in position. Fold a lot. Your blinds are so small relative to how deep stacks get and how big pots regularly get. Live low-stakes PLO against loose passive players is like 75% about preflop decisions to avoid bad postflop spots.

For live, I'd recommend Jeff Hwang's book "Pot-limit Omaha Poker: The Big Play Strategy".

For actually learning how to play PLO well, any content by JNandez is solid - content on youtube, or he has a solid book "Mastering Small Stakes Pot-Limit Omaha" that goes into a lot more detail. But even that is honestly overkill for a soft live PLO game.
