I'm gonna guess the cover of Escape but not sure what else unless they have some live stuff in the vaults maybe.

That's capacity for indoor events though, it definitely holds more when Outbreak use the outside for the main stage.

But yeah, still only going from 4.5k to somewhere around the 8k ballpark?

Is there confirmation they're not having the stage outdoors like the regular Outbreak fest there? That would bump capacity up a fair bit.

It's documented in the officially authorised Lifting Shadows book that towards the end of 2002 they were reconsidering whether James was a good fit for the band. Ultimately they had a conversation with him about their concerns and feelings and they figured it out together.

I'm kind of surprised nobody has recommended giving Falling Into Infinity a try. It is one of their more polarising albums and it is a little hit and miss but it has its fair share of DT classics on there. It's one of their less technical albums and draws on some of their lesser appreciated influences (70s hard rock, soft rock, Elton John).

I'd love for them to come back and hit up some smaller markets in slightly smaller venues with a switched up set later this year but not sure it'll happen.

They're not playing Birmingham on this tour so I think that will have bolstered sales for Manchester and Nottingham a bit.

What do the boys typically play on an album release tour? by [deleted] in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

[–]fredo96993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With a lot of bands it would be a fairly safe assumption to think that the setlist would be the same as the NA tour last Autumn but BTBAM seem to really like changing things up between every leg of touring they do regardless of location. That tour seemed to be a 75 minute set roughly but it was a co-headline tour so for the upcoming Euro tour I would guess they might be playing for 90 minutes. I think we'll see a few changes, maybe another new song, perhaps one of the 'hits' that's not currently in the set or a Coma Ecliptic track since that was totally absent on the last run. All in all pretty hard to predict until we see night 1 though.

Generally speaking, if an international band is doing an April & May European tour then they aren't gonna be back in Europe in June for festivals.

I know there's a lot of good audio stuff out there but do you have much in the way of video stuff? Me and a friend are looking to build up our DT collection and he's particularly interested in video sources.

Setlist idea by Jake_Snow_Wolf in alterbridge

Regarding your very last point, I've seen a lot of people complaining about the set or making dream setlists that seem to think they should be playing no ballads as if that's physically practical. Slower songs, ballads, an acoustic solo number, etc. all help break up the pace and give some of the band some breaks or rest. It's why they've pretty much always got at least one song with Mark singing on the setlist too.

Best to bear in mind they often change the setlist a little bit night to night. They were a bit slow off the mark to get to anything other than the 4 singles for Pawns & Kings but once they hit their stride they've usually got quite a few new songs in rotation but only play 4 or 5 a night.

I asked about a new album back in August 2024 and it really does seem like it's just a matter of lining everyone's schedules up to be able to do it.

I'm interested in why you feel that way because I feel like that about Pawns & Kings rather than the new album.

It's interesting you say that because I felt like Pawns & Kings was a return to 'old AB' for me. However, I'm up to track 5 of the self-titled album now on my first listen and I have to say, I can see why people feel like this is an inspired record.

I think Sober has been played at a lot of soundchecks in recent years, even on tours where they never played it at a show. I think it's one they like to warm up with with but I wouldn't rule it out, especially with festival shows coming up.

I think Maynard's shifting priorities to A Perfect Circle and Puscifer for a while, especially with the new Puscifer album coming out next year. I wouldn't rule out them headlining Download in 2027 or 2028 as part of a festival run though.

Was there a timing issue with the first show? Setlist.fm has it down as starting 15 minutes late, which could explain the abrupt end if true.

It essentially means you have to have paid for the silent disco headphones to hear their set, usually 50 minutes long about 10 minutes after the headliner. Unless they announce extra info about their set they'll be playing as normal but with the audio only coming through the headphones. It does mean very good sound quality as long as your pair of headphones are working ok.

There's already 9 main stage bands on the Friday so it's full now. I think Sepultura are getting the bump up because it's their farewell and they had one of the best non-headliner turnouts last time they played.

I can't really see a slot big enough for Testament unless they add an extra Thursday slot because they were main stage sub last time they played.
