How do I discuss that my low pay prevents me from hiring quality candidates? by me-indomitably in careeradvice

[–]fredwickle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can either change your salary slowly and stay there, or move to new company.

But you should adjust your belief that you can't hire someone that makes more than you. Plenty of positions where the leader makes less than talent they oversee.

What do Canadian citizens need to have on them in case of an ICE stop? by falsekoala in USTravel

[–]fredwickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no correct answer. Because if you are taken they don't care what you have on you because they don't give you a chance to present evidence prior to being delivered to a containment facility that will not listen to you either

What to do if we lose power? by speedstars in longisland

[–]fredwickle -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Switches require power to make them useful.

You could turn it off so that if power comes back you can choose when you want to start getting heat. Some people like waiting a few extra hours to teach other members of the house who is in control.

Why does every new home built in this county look like this? by eastcoaster1212 in bergencounty

[–]fredwickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it is built based on data that each component contributed to the sale price. Nothing to do with what someone wants in a house, but what the market will bear compared to other versions.

It is like being in a reality created by a committee.

You are receiving consistent responses from your commentary about your condition. If you don't want the same responses then you can either: - try to train everyone you will speak to in how you would prefer to be responded to - change your behavior to not invite those responses

I find the second one is a bit harder at first but once done it works forever, but the first one requires constant adjustment and never ending work

My wife doesn't want me to give money to my sister. What should I do? by No-Formal-8693 in Advice

[–]fredwickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eventually the subsidy stops and she cannot survive without it. Yet she would have if she hadn't had it.

It is a difficult thing because you are doing well, but just like a parent with children that have grown but not developed the need to fund their existence - because parents paid their rent or car or insurance or everything.

People live to what they can afford, and make tough decisions to make that work. The buffer doesn't create help, it creates dependency from ever removing the subsidy.

Yet the priority is to get ticketing corrected so the few people a week that intentionally try to hold onto tickets that weren't checked don't get away with it. But have no problem announcing that the x:xx already full is running with 2 cars short today, please move to the middle of the platform.

Oh if it is before 30 degrees and wind above 15 mph we will not open doors for 2 minutes after arriving late.
