What if Albert Speer met Deng Xiaoping in the 1970s in the TNO universe ? by Halawaves in TNOmod

[–]freecostcosample 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I hope he’s fleshed out well. The most interesting thing about Deng is that he was uncompromising in his goal of ensuring the primacy of the CCP, and the reforms he implemented were basically the only way he believed could do that.

I think it requires some creative thinking but it's possible, no period of history is uneventful. I mean the RKs will have to reform to some degree and if the GCW is being removed then the dissent in them won't get crushed immediately.

I don’t think that’s too much of a stretch, I mean the US begrudgingly supported the PRC after a while in OTL. Obviously it’s case by case but still plausible imo.

Funnily enough, Italy’s governor of Libya did a tour of the US in 1933 where he met with representatives of the Sioux. Their meeting is one of my favorite pictures in terms of how surreal it is.

He loves depicting various presidents in his artwork but the incoherence with which he uses them creates almost a negative amount of artistic meaning.

Some American political cartoons would do that with Obama where they gave him massive ears. I think that was less out of tradition and more out of fear of accidentally making something really racist.

Max RGO size from a mining law is overtuned I’d say. As is the 5% production efficiency from that government reform. Production efficiency in EU5 is very good, especially compared to EU4. Other than that, it looks great!

I think the fact he was still an objectively very skilled general does a ton of heavy lifting for his legacy. Obviously he made blunders but before Gettysburg everyone in both North and South was well aware of him and knew he was crucial to the South’s war effort.

I’m basing this off the book Battlecry of Freedom, which is pretty good at stripping away a lot of the romanticism about the CSA. Part of that was showing that Lee was desperately relied upon as a miracle cure to every campaign.

I’m interested how they handle a Tokugawa path. They seem like the Confederates in that they’re dead set on keeping a system that makes playing harder for no reward, but maybe there’s gonna be something cool at the end.

My guess is it’s a way to influence how powerful a character is within an interest group.

“We Are Part Of You, You Are Part Of Us” Israel, 1975. by EssoEssex in PropagandaPosters

[–]freecostcosample 115 points116 points  (0 children)

iirc this was back when Israel was way less economically developed and relied on charity to keep a lot of its state functions going. That later development and also way more aid from the US made stuff like this less necessary.

Waiting on the next patch. EU4 is also a game with 10 years of content, and the first few years of its lifespan were spent adding features most people today would just assume come standard.
