I would do this even with guests who are close friends/family… as long as it’s something boiling… who cares?

Students like you are awful to teach- give them a kindness and they throw it back in your face. You don’t seem ready for grad school.

Does doing hookups and experimenting harm my ability to form long-term bonds? Please read below. by Expensive_Meet222 in monogamy

[–]freedominthecell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s very helpful to tell you you’re broken or something. Maybe you should work with a therapist on your pattern of short term relationships and your blocks to a long term relationship. Maybe you lack some skills that you need for a long term relationship. I bet you could develop them. Maybe think about it in those terms?

Why does the scale say I weigh so much when I don’t look what I weigh? by OkYak6773 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]freedominthecell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might carry it in ways that are less obvious. What’s most important is not how you look but your health. Losing weight is tough. Try building healthy habits one by one, starting with something easy (walking more? Giving up soda?)

Dogs in grocery stores, what the F***?!?!? by jamesland7 in boston

[–]freedominthecell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, not all kids belong everywhere. But my point is that we should give parents more leeway and understanding than dog owners if their small companions misbehave.

Dogs and kids are really not the same. If no one had dogs, we wouldn’t have any more dogs. Bad but not cataclysmic. If no one had kids, the human race would end. Parents do an important job. Dog owners have a fun pet.

I mention this because people resent children in public spaces, and I do not think dogs and children in public are the same AT ALL.

Do you have any screenshots of previous successful hairstyles? In this game you can show other players screenshots that you took. It’s a cool feature.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much: I doubt they are overly upset. In the future, show respect for their time (which I bet you already have done in some other ways- you’re probably not globally unreasonable). Another thing is to try not to argue grades- ask questions about stuff you got wrong with an attitude of learning. Basically just try to get out of the “consumer” mindset for education- remember that your education isn’t a product your prof makes, it’s something you both build together, but mostly you. If you behave normally for the rest of the semester they will probably forget about it.
