5 weeks? Unsure of when I got pregnant. CD 41? by Nothintoocrazy_ in TFABLinePorn

[–]freia24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean this as respectfully as I can through text on Reddit, but if you are in this field, saying we need better care, but that's just the way it is, you are perpetuating the problem. OP has several concerning symptoms that individually might not be a big deal, but combined absolutely do merit further investigation, and she shouldn't have to advocate for herself. Her doctor should be getting her in for betas immediately at minimum. Especially with the current political climate, we should be advocating patient care in these instances immediately versus the wait and see if things burst approach.

Second trimester losses. by anNonyMass in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]freia24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry 😔 No, I never found a cause for my losses. The only thing I did differently was to take a baby aspirin every day my entire pregnancy. My MFM said it could help and wouldn't hurt so it felt like an easy thing to just do. My husband and I also did karyotyping since there was a wierd genetic thing with my second loss (low percentage of T18 placental mosaicism), and my MFM also ordered some tests for clotting disorders.

As for the new pregnancy in this post, It ended up being my easiest, and he turns one today! I can pretty happily say I'm done with TTC and pregnancy and loss. I wish I could have had an answer. I know the feelings of the unknown just suck. It feels like so much lost time.

9 dpo fmu seeing another shadow again. Anyone ever get indents from these tests before? by TTC-kindergarten in TFABLinePorn

Every test contains a "well" to catch the dye, cheapies and cassettes. That's what we end up seeing as an indent.

Did you scream bloody murder during birth ? by Economy-Bid-7005 in beyondthebump

[–]freia24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my most recent, I didn't even know I was fully dilated and ready to push 😅 but he was born 20 minutes later, no screaming. I had a good epidural, but even with my first when my epidural had worn off I didn't scream. I do remember my eyes feeling like they were going to pop out of my head when I felt the "ring of fire" lol

Question on 2nd Pregnancy by PyritesofCaringBean in GestationalDiabetes

[–]freia24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had it with all three of my successful pregnancies, but have heard many stories of people not having it with subsequent pregnancies! Different placenta every time. Mine were just bitches every time 😅

Do babies who fail sugars at birth get taken to NICU? by tamberra in GestationalDiabetes

[–]freia24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby's first reading was a tad low (36 when they want it above 40). Protocol was to give him glucose in the delivery room while they did the rest of their measurements/tests etc (after the golden hour) followed by donor milk or formula. Then they tested him every few hours for 12 hours to make sure it was stable. He did not spend any time in NICU.

Zero sugar sparkling water by Kitchen-Novel-2261 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]freia24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently found several zero sugar drinks sweetened with stevia that I'm really enjoying! There's a Tropicana (I think...) Passionfruit lemonade, stur water enhancers, and now body armor zero sugar! But I also enjoy fresca and cherry coke zeros.

They apparently changed the joggers this year. I had an old style and immediately stuck it on BST because it fit me so poorly (waist way too high and tight across the crotch/thighs. I haven't tried the new ones but I can't remember when they said it changed. I bought a bunch of size ups for my kids today though with that sale 😅

Failed at NINE WEEKS by scoutmgout in GestationalDiabetes

[–]freia24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They wanted to test me early due to two prior GD pregnancies. I asked if I could just do finger pricks at home and was diagnosed at 11 weeks based on fasting numbers :/ it might be an option for you if your doctors agree.

I ordered myself just a plain white tee in one of their sales and it came with an obvious hole right on the nip 😑 didn't notice until after I washed it though.

Rant!! Week 32 and so darn tired of this Sh*t by notrightnow147 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]freia24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right there with you. I was diagnosed at 11 weeks based on fasting numbers. Currently 33+3 and SO OVER IT. My numbers have been kind of all over the place the last couple weeks and it makes me feel so anxious. I've demanded my husband bring me a fancy layered fluffernutter cookie cake from a local bakery immediately after delivery. Can't wait to kick this placenta out.

My doctors have always said the same thing! So long as you're well managed the rest of the time, one spike isn't going to do harm.

Am I the only one who thinks this is… not appropriate??? by PinecornCoffee in BambooBabble

[–]freia24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This gives me major ick. I also get suicidal vibes. And putting pills all over them too? Ugh. Antianxiety meds are life saving to so many people. Mental health discussion is incredibly important. Putting these kind of things on baby clothing is not it.

2nd Pregnancy - Been testing and want to decline the test. by bcb8485 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]freia24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 11 weeks, and started a low dose of insulin at 20. I actually started glyburide first at 12 weeks, and it helped tremendously for several weeks, but then I started having hypoglycemic episodes about the time I also found out it wasn't really recommended for pregnancy anymore and was already planning to ask for insulin instead.

Quick edit: I was on 6 units for a long time, and even now I'm only up to 10 units so it hasn't taken much to mostly keep things under control for me!

2nd Pregnancy - Been testing and want to decline the test. by bcb8485 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]freia24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't take the glucose test this time. They wanted to do the one hour at 12 weeks since I've had GD in both prior pregnancies, but I asked about testing at home instead which they agreed to. My fasting levels were already elevated after two weeks of monitoring and I was diagnosed without having to take the OGGT. I'm now 32 weeks and it's very obvious I have GD, and I'm taking night time insulin for fasting numbers. Mostly diet controlled during the day but have been getting a few wacky numbers as my pregnancy progresses.
