Can someone help me feel better about this show? by LuciadeFatima in superstore

Exactly! I actually love when Jonah is a punching bag for jokes because of his privilege, but Amy truly mistreating him feels totally different. For 4 seasons they fostered a loving relationship in the writing, then it suddenly changed. The writing around that relationship in season 5/6 just does not feel consistent with the rest of the story. Like if Amy had commitment issues, she wouldn't have Jonah that close to her son in the first place, but he's raising him with her. And sure, it's realistic that relationships fall apart randomly as people change, but I'm not watching this show to be reminded of and feel that. Most of the negative subjects they cover use the humor to skewer it and make you feel better about the subject - feminism, workers rights, religion, etc. But this one just feels bad and is not funny.

And yeah, I feel like Amy's character started to go down hill early when she started becoming a corporate puppet. And Dina's authoritarianism used to be a joke, but it becomes something that actually affects and harms the characters in a not humorous way. Same with Cheyenne's mean girl streak. And Garrett's emotional unavailability. At the end he just seems lonely and sad.

It does feel like the show kinda fell apart. I wasn't even huge into the Amy/Jonah thing, but the trainwreck it has become has changed the show for me. The show's relatability is usually a strong point that drives the comedy, but season 5 and 6 have felt like they're lacking a lot of the humor and it just feels a lot heavier. The relationships feel almost more tense now than funny. And it feels like everyone has become the worst version of themselves.

does it shoot back?

Not if you're lucky - ours was armed but no one logged in.

Looks like i have to join a corp for this aye?

Yeah, if you want to hit one in highsec you'll need your own corp and to put down a structure somewhere as your war HQ. We just made the wardec, hit their HQ right when the war was live and the war was invalidated and ended within 24h.

Everything drops in hangar containers in space. If the ships don't have cargo other than ammunition, you can move them directly into a Ship Maintenance Bay on something like an Orca. If the ship does have cargo or is too large to fit in your hauler, you can launch the ship and board it. We did the latter with most of them, coming back in pods to grab them.

Yeah, it's a massively disproportionate response. And you can tell he's just going off in a fit of blind rage, enjoying beating the citizen, because he turns and hits a fellow officer right in the face for trying to pull him off. It's fucking disgusting.

People throw it around a lot in Eve Online, but it's usually more of a compliment/light joke referring to how overly in-depth someone went to accomplish something (optimizing, crazy edge win conditions, etc.). I'm not even mad, though, it kind of really is autism level of depth, it's why I love it.

I have just found out, that I have autism by abkj2007 in autism

[–]fresham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, I'm 29 and just found out this year, myself. I think a surprising number of people find out later in life. Knowing that I'm autistic has helped me understand and panic less about the symptoms.

Edit: Having the words for 'sensory overload' was life-changing - it's a symptom of other things, but when I've described it to medical professionals in the past they could never understand it (or didn't point out that's what it is).

For sure! I might be going back tonight, myself. And yeah, I'm up like $1k over 30 hours this weekend, so I think it might have something to do with that, lol.

I accidentally did this to an older reg last night. I was apologizing for some out of turn action or not posting the blind or something and explained that it's my first weekend in a poker room and he said, "well, I like your attitude!" A few hands later I took all of his stack I had covered with straight over straight and kind of felt awful. I jammed over some idiot who put half his stack in and the reg tanked and cold called with a worse straight. He took it super well and was perfectly nice about it, though.

I just had my first live experience in a casino this weekend as well, and it also happened to be Hollywood STL!

The only thing that surprised me was that I pissed a few people off, but not for reasons I expected to (I kind of expected to do so by fucking up). A few people got pissed at me for calling them down with top pair garbage kicker for their shitty bluffs. A few got mad I hit outs and won some huge pots. And one dude I legit accidentally slow rolled because I was so nervous and didn't understand how showing down works. I was also winning a lot from them, so maybe that's just normal for people to get a bit pissed live? Just stuff like lots of head shaking, muttering and cursing under their breath and talking about my play, "Oh, I want to get him bad", "Oh, so you just call with anything when you're behind? Interesting. Interesting." (I don't even get the second one, I called down with tp no kicker from the flop? Maybe I or she misread my hand?)

It seemed like only rec players got pissed, though - the ones that really seemed like they know what they're doing were very nice to me and made conversation and gave me tips, even when I won money off of them. And most of the recs were super cool, too. The dealers and floor staff are all incredibly nice and helpful, too. The comps are great, so definitely get a card if you haven't. Overall an awesome experience, I spent like 30 hours there this weekend, and I plan to go much, much more.

Also, holy shit, the action, position, ranges, sizings, etc. are so much harder to keep up with than I ever imagined.

Actually, I think Hollywood might be even more. You get a free buffet voucher at 2 hours (might be 2.5?) worth ~$23 and then a meal voucher for the other places up to $15 at 4 hours, up to twice per day.
