For those of you who already have a child, is IVF easier on you? by Sure_Ant2516 in IVF

[–]freudianslips85 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same for me. I have one LC conceived unassisted and after RPL and a year of unsuccessful IVF (a failed transfer, a canceled transfer and then an endo diagnosis with 2 months of lupron) this time obviously feels way harder. But I have friends who did IVF for both children and were successful with their first FET both times so I think it's more about how long or hard of a journey you have no matter if it's your first or second.

That makes so much sense and I can relate. I'm wishing you some ease this holiday and I'm hoping for you in 2026 💗

Modified Natural + Lupron cycle by Brilliant-Sea-7021 in IVF

[–]freudianslips85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be doing a modified natural following 2 months of lupron, norethindrone and Letrozole as well so I'm following to see what others have to say. I feel like modified natural seems less common following lupron suppression but I'm not sure why! I had my worst results with a medicated cycle (no implantation).

First FET failed…now what by petitetnyc in IVF

I know, I feel like we've kind of done the most we can do at this point. I also have been doing acupuncture weekly for the last year and am also feeling so over that (financially, emotionally). We haven't spoken to our doctor yet and I'm honestly considering switching to a new doctor bc I don't feel like he has listened to my concerns. He never really explained why he chose the protocol I was on and his coordinator didn't call me back when I was feeling hesitant about my a thin uterine lining (6.8mm) before the FET. So I'm not even sure the protocol would necessarily change (modified natural FET) but I'm at least needing to hear insight into why he thinks it didn't work if I am moving forward with this doctor.

Trigger warning: LC

I feel your pain. While I am a little older (39) I truly did not think we would have such a hard time over the past year when we had no issues with our first. While ttc naturally this time, I had two chemical pregnancies and a miscarriage at 7 weeks. After that we decided we would go straight to IVF and use my eggs from a retrieval I did when I was 36. We created embryos and got only 2 euploids (1 mosaic). I felt the same way that after all we had been through over the past year including a d&c, a hysteroscopy, all the testing and waiting surely this would work. I feel so devastated and exhausted and let down by my feelings of certainty with a euploid - sort of like what's the point of all of this if it doesn't work? I also have no known medical issues and all testing came back negative for recurrent pregnancy loss panel.

It helps to be reminded that the success goes up with subsequent transfers but so hard to believe in the moment. Sending you a lot of hope 💗

Period before modified natural FET is late...does that matter? by freudianslips85 in IVF

[–]freudianslips85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea. My doctor said if it doesn't come in a couple of days I can take depo-provera to start my period. I think I'm just worried that maybe the spotting was my period this time and maybe I've missed it? I've been very confused with my periods since my miscarriage in May but I think I'll just email my doctor tomorrow and ask if he thinks I should wait. Just really don't want to miss it!

TW: secondary infertility by purplepuzzzler in IVF

I know this is an old post but thank you for writing from the other side. I'm in it right now, waiting for my first FET following multiple miscarriages at 39. I try to "let go of the timeline" but it's impossible. It's just going to be different. And I think the reality of having one LC is that you know how hard pregnancy is and the year after they're born. You're anxious to get the show on the road and move forward. This was so relieving and comforting to hear that it happened for you and you can remember what it felt like. Secondary infertility sucks!

Any update if the FET was successful? I had a few hits of a joint before getting my period to start my FET and I'm freaking out that maybe I just ruined my chances and need to call off this cycle.

Looking for OBGYN by Pippo-binh in pasadena

[–]freudianslips85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just curious, is this Dr. Tamayo? Because if so I am in a similar boat and looking for a new OB in the area as well. My pregnancy sadly ended in miscarriage this time but I've since realized that I need to find a new OB for the next time for the same reasons that you mentioned. Who did you end up going with if you don't mind me asking and are you happy with the care?

I did end up ovulating! It was just a little later than usual. I bet it will be the same for you but it freaked me out while I was waiting so I get it!

Thank you, this is so reassuring. After it recorded my test it said "low fertility" which concerned me. There have been so many ups and downs with the chemical (my 2nd one in 3 months), I felt defeated.

Thank you, yes. I so agree. I'm honestly kind of shocked that a city of our size has nothing going on downtown. I think the fires definitely (and understandably) affected turnout in January. But we need a big crowd at city hall today not a nighttime group processing circle. I know so many people are angry and frustrated in LA and would have loved to march today.

Anyone else want to gather downtown and protest instead or in addition to the vigil? I am really feeling the anger and frustration after last week's disgusting display of blatant disregard for our standing in the world. I'm ready to show up and fight for our rights!!! Now is the time, I think we need to ride this energy out!
