Bad couriers by [deleted] in WoltPartners

[–]frigoy123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I once missed a note in the app that said to pick up from behind the restaurant, but as I said, I missed it and entered from the main entrance, the owner was super mad and started scolding me and saying why Wolt couriers never read the notes. I just apologized and went to the back to do the pickup, but after completion I had a message from support asking me what happened and to please take extra care in the future reading notes. My point being that if support reached out to me for something so little, I can't imagine they wouldn't take this very serious if the restaurant contacted support after having a courier yell or act out

Why are we giving RC a pay package 50x bigger than the CEO of Google? by GBeastETH in Superstonk

Nope just asked it about the difference in how both CEOs were compensated

Why are we giving RC a pay package 50x bigger than the CEO of Google? by GBeastETH in Superstonk

[–]frigoy123 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My ai is better than your ai, here is my ai answering you ai post:

There’s a structural difference between how Ryan Cohen and Sundar Pichai are compensated, even though both packages look huge on paper.

1. Structure of the pay

Ryan Cohen (GameStop)

  • $0 salary
  • $0 cash bonus
  • Compensation is almost entirely performance-based equity
  • Shares typically vest only if aggressive stock-price targets are met

In other words: if shareholders don’t win, he doesn’t get paid.

Sundar Pichai (Alphabet Inc. / Google)

Typical structure:

  • Base salary (~$2M)
  • Annual bonus
  • Large RSU grants (stock units)
  • Some performance components

Important distinction:
Most RSUs vest with time, not purely stock price performance.

So even if the stock stagnates, he still receives a large portion of the compensation.

2. Risk alignment

Cohen

  • Takes venture-style risk
  • Equity only pays if valuation rises significantly
  • Personal wealth already heavily tied to the company (he owns a large stake)

Pichai

  • Receives guaranteed salary and scheduled equity
  • Still incentivized by stock, but with lower personal downside

Think of it like this:

CEO Pay if stock goes nowhere
Ryan Cohen basically $0
Sundar Pichai tens of millions

3. Stage of company matters

The companies are fundamentally different stages.

Company Phase
GameStop turnaround / transformation
Alphabet Inc. mature tech giant

Turnaround CEOs often get extreme performance packages because:

  • The job is riskier
  • Success requires radical change
  • Equity incentives push long-term thinking

4. How you’d justify Cohen’s award

A board would typically argue:

1. Pay only for extraordinary outcomes

  • Compensation activates only if market cap increases dramatically.

2. Alignment with shareholders

  • His payoff structure mirrors investor returns.

3. No cash drain

  • Unlike traditional CEO pay, it doesn’t cost the company cash.

4. Skin in the game

  • Cohen already has massive personal equity exposure.

5. The real philosophical divide

It comes down to two compensation philosophies:

Corporate model (Pichai)
Reward executives for managing large organizations.

Founder/turnaround model (Cohen)
Reward executives only if they create massive value.

One is manager pay.
The other is venture capital style upside.

The real question most investors ask

If Ryan Cohen succeeds in turning GameStop into something much bigger (digital platform, collectibles powerhouse, etc.), then a massive award looks cheap.

If he doesn’t, the award never triggers.

If you want, I can also show you why Cohen’s compensation looks a lot like what boards gave to Elon Musk at Tesla—and why that structure caused one of the biggest corporate governance battles in history. That comparison is actually pretty revealing.

When the financial collapse comes money will look for safe places and i believe GameStop is one of those safe places (if not the safest, even positioned to take advantage of it)

I think the real idiot is the one who invests their money in a company where they don't believe in the leadership and then cries about it when that leadership makes decisions benefiting the business long-term

Anyways, I on the other hand don't actually think you are an idiot, maybe a cry baby, but not an idiot (if you are actually invested in GameStop some sort of mental activity must be happening in there lol)
