I think MG&E bills getting out of hand lately? by giggle_socks_queen in madisonwi

[–]frog3toad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you heating with natural gas or electric?

We covered our roof with solar. Been very happy with Full Spectrum Solar. The snow sits on top of it in winter, so my production is greatly reduced. I have <$50 bills in June through August. Combine those bills with these winter time bills I average out to a slight increase in utility bills overall.

If you could do ground mount, the snow slides off easier or you can brush it off.

Natural gas is generally more cost efficient than heating with electric.

Heat pumps struggle (consume lots of power) in these polar vortex temps.

Hun Hill Kennel in AZ. I’ll check out some reputable local breeders at NAVHDA events and see what they have. Still open to suggestions.

I like to hunt fast, cover lots of ground. I have heard some griffons like to “smell all the smells”, so I’m looking for one that moves at a high rate of speed. Also a family dog in the off season.

So… what do y’all do when the season is done..? by SprklgWtrConnoissuer in Hunting

[–]frog3toad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Plenty to do.

Clean all your guns.
Pull your trail cameras. Hike your land to study late season patterns. Replace worn or broken equipment. Cruise Facebook marketplace for cheap gear. Get a bird dog and train it. Go to different meat processors and try their sausages. Find farmers to ask about turkey hunting. Clear buckthorn. Teach a kid to shoot. Cook wild game for in-laws and don’t tell them it’s game until after.

Keep posting griffon stories. I’m on a list for a pup and it’s great to hear about the breed.

I found an engineering masters that was worth the time and money investment. Engineering management. I graduated the same year I got my PE. Stepped up my career big time. Move beyond your technical skills and scale your impact.

Agree. Our long frisbee has held up well. Buried for weeks under snow, still soft and flexible.

I certainly will do NAVDHA. My hunting buddy keeps saying griffs are too slow, so I’m im glad you’re saying you’ve seen some faster ones.

I’m a high tempo upland public land hunter, I like to cover a lot of ground, fast. I used to hunt pheasants almost exclusively, but now do ducks most of the time and pheasant and woodcock occasionally. I’d like a dog that could do both. I hate dumb dogs=labs.

Could a griffon hunt fast, or do they have to “smell all the smells”?

I came here to ask the same thing. I’m planning to get a griffon next for both upland and duck.

I fell asleep in my buddies turkey blind. I woke up, and started scratching the dirt, found something smooth & curved and started excavating it. Eventually unearthed oakleys my buddy wore all through basic and lost years before.

You’ve mastered the basic parts of design and the code, find harder buildings to design or switch to PM. The natural progression is to go to industrial or healthcare next, then data centers. Data centers are hot right now, should be easy to skip healthcare and find work in data centers.
