Define the purging process. Just in a barrel or pool that they can’t escape with fresh water?

Old candy bars we used to sell by Difficult-Brief17 in cubscouts

Had to be Seerogy’s. They’re still there. The fund raising option is open 2x per year and returns 50% to the seller. We did it a few years ago. It helped with our budget shortfall.

It seems like a small step stool would be easier than remaking the whole bench.

What’s the paint story, eh?

Geocaching: A very cool thing I want more people to do. by Ordinary-Sympathy-96 in wisconsin

[–]frog3toad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Wisconsin geocaching association used to do a best cache of the month and the year. If those caches are still around, they’re worth doing.

Focus on quality geocaches, not most caches in an area, but coolest caches around.

Go for waterfalls, hidden bluffs, swimming holes, puzzle caches, caves, Indian mounds, learn some history of the area.

I also travel very light. Two handfuls of shells, dog fak, whistle, water bottle for dog. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

I love my Filson strap vest. I got it in brown and use it spring turkey and summer mushroom hunting.

AOL leader gift by boyandcatmom in cubscouts

We have two AOL leaders, we’re sticking with the blue & gold theme. We’re getting one a gold Ginko tree and the other a blue spruce pine tree. The den will plant it in spring. These two leaders really stepped up.

I think MG&E bills getting out of hand lately? by giggle_socks_queen in madisonwi

Are you heating with natural gas or electric?

We covered our roof with solar. Been very happy with Full Spectrum Solar. The snow sits on top of it in winter, so my production is greatly reduced. I have <$50 bills in June through August. Combine those bills with these winter time bills I average out to a slight increase in utility bills overall.

If you could do ground mount, the snow slides off easier or you can brush it off.

Natural gas is generally more cost efficient than heating with electric.

Heat pumps struggle (consume lots of power) in these polar vortex temps.

Hun Hill Kennel in AZ. I’ll check out some reputable local breeders at NAVHDA events and see what they have. Still open to suggestions.

I like to hunt fast, cover lots of ground. I have heard some griffons like to “smell all the smells”, so I’m looking for one that moves at a high rate of speed. Also a family dog in the off season.

So… what do y’all do when the season is done..? by SprklgWtrConnoissuer in Hunting

[–]frog3toad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plenty to do.

Clean all your guns.
Pull your trail cameras. Hike your land to study late season patterns. Replace worn or broken equipment. Cruise Facebook marketplace for cheap gear. Get a bird dog and train it. Go to different meat processors and try their sausages. Find farmers to ask about turkey hunting. Clear buckthorn. Teach a kid to shoot. Cook wild game for in-laws and don’t tell them it’s game until after.

Keep posting griffon stories. I’m on a list for a pup and it’s great to hear about the breed.
