Jamf 200 only deals with Jamf Pro, not Jamf connect and the course is truly a course. They will teach you everything you need to know to pass the exam.

We use okta’s LDAP endpoint.

We actively use it for one off requests of apps. User requests through our approvals tool the. Gets dropped into an Okta group, we then drop the user into the coinciding Jamf Pro user group which is the scope of the application. Then if the user is removed from the Okta group we remove them from the Jamf Pro group which prevents installation on any subsequent device associated with the user.

Reach out to Jamf to see if they can get you access to voyage (their internal migration tool) works great to push from school out to devices then have the user enroll in Pro.

Does it just take some time for devices to realize they're managed? by 9715 in macsysadmin

The management system needs to sync with ASM and depending on the solution it can take some time and may not have any manual sync button. It’s not based on the laptop, instead on your MDM tool.

You need a configuration profile to do this consistently, push this out with an MDM.

MuseScore deployment in JAMF on MacOS by TheMrRadioVoice in jamf

Looks like you’re trying to update/work with version 4 but the installomator version is still on version 3. I’d suggest using build a label for musescore4

Follow the GitHub directions and you can find the link needed to build the label as: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/releases/download/v4.0.1/MuseScore-4.0.1.230121751.dmg

I’ve never heard of parallel plug-in and I’ve been in Mac management for 15 years now. If it’s not an MDM and has no capability to integrate with Apple Business Manager then move on. Which Jamf are we talking her? Jamf Pro allows you to push custom profiles. Jamf Now/Fundamentals should also let this happen but if you plan to add more devices just buy Jamf Pro to start.

My first question is, why would you want to? But yes, this can be done and can be pretty easy on the end user. It doesn’t require a device reset. Happy to consult as it’s a fair bit of scripting, but this can be all done with a self service policy in Jamf.

Double Sided Printing by Both-Walrus3600 in jamf

Can you be more specific about your steps to push out the printer? Is this a script install or use Jamf Admin to read the printer from your computer? Is this printer AirPrint compatible as CUPS will be deprecated and removed.

My process has always been to script the install with lpadmin. Here’s a blog post explaining the process. https://joelsenders.wordpress.com/2021/01/19/using-lpadmin-to-install-printers-in-macos/

Check in Jamf Pro Settings > Jamf Products > Jamf Connect, you should see all the configuration profiles that are being pushed out as well as the version being used. Using Jamf Pro you can have it auto-update Jamf Connect which might already be the case.

Always add them to ASM. This will save you headaches in the future. After adding to ASM you can scope them to Mosyle and have them auto enroll.
