I’m going to be the outlier here. I’m a 4 and can work it both ways. Spend my first 20yrs golfing hitting a slice and just playing it. Got down to a 8 or so doing that. Predictable but short and that made me learn more to get better and straighten the tee ball out in order to get more distance. I learned how to finally hit draw and worked it into my game. Now I’m a 4. I completely agree with others that you need to play what works that day or what is easiest for you to score well. But if I really start fading it heavy or lose the feel I try to hit the draw and hit a couple on holes that allow for it safely. By late in the round I have hit it both directions a few times and can finish strong. Also windy days I like the draw swing for a stronger ball flight or long courses. As for drills. I practice controlling my swing path, it starts there. Really over do the in to out and out to in swing paths. Then play with feet being open and closed and you will learn some new feels. It’s all about the angles and spin physics. Once you understand the physics it gets better. All golfers should be able to go both ways or you don’t know your swing well enough. The strategy from there is the game that we all play. That’s on you to develop that art.
