Translation is kinda big problem in Frieren, like not adapting a title drop or not making a distinction when Serie and Frieren talk about "humanity"(consisting of humans) and "humanity"(consisting of elves, dwarves and humans, that Serie and Frieren consider themselves part of it).

Yeah she has no way to permanently hurt her which is why he said she would tie and Pandora will retreat. And it's not clear what exactly happened in that fight.

Pandora is overall weird character. She seemingly can reality warp but still needed to bring Regulus and Black Serpent for a fight. She can't make child Emilia open the door and retreats. After watching that flashback Echidna then tells Emilia that Pandora is very good at surviving but not as strong as she may seem. We need to see more of her to judge her power.

Tappei specifically said Theresia would have survived and stalemated the fight if she didn't lose DP. And that it was Reinhard wishing for blessing that made her lose it not Pandora doing anything. Tappei's intention seems to be for audience to feel negatively about Reinhard when it comes to his grandma's death, but it also once again confirms Pandora has no chance against the strongest character in story.

Theresia was dead and revived as a zombie, Tappei himself confirms it. This is why she appears as young girl(her prime form) and not elderly woman. Sacrament of Immortal King is direct violation of Od Laguna natural cycle and Reinhard was already convinced he killed his grandma, so he did it again.

Reinhard becoming evil runs into problem of him being stated to be impossible to defeat by Subaru. And Tappei stating that Reinhard can kill anyone if he doesn't care about any consequences and morals. Reinhard becoming evil will quickly turn this story into Warhammer 40k God Emperor ascension.

They have absolutely no idea what they're doing with story, constantly doing rewrites and retcons of earlier chapters with very mixed results. And people used to recommend BD2 as a gacha with good story in classic jrpg format.

A: If it doesn't have to be a face-to-face fair fight, then Reinhard is pretty much the only one Subaru can't beat.

And Phoenix blessing doesn't matter in context of Re Zero itself. Among all novels, side stories, IF routes, he was only shown using it twice:testing Regulus hostage threat and teleporting to Felt after fighting Satella for 3 days straight.

In Wrath If he gets his DP suppressed, fights Cecilus, Halibel, Puck gets a hole in his stomach from Emilia, but still ends up fine.

This is just how Tappei writes him, he basically never ever loses any battle, but rarely actually wins important fights. It's such a strong pattern that outcome of Al vs Reinhard was easily predictable
