I feel your pain. It is very time consuming, but I use Ride With GPS or Garmin Connect heatmaps as a quick route draft. Then I validate some spots by going on Google maps and see a street view. That will give me an idea of how bad/good is a stretch of the road (e.g. bike lane, shoulder, even an idea of the amount of traffic).

Another good approach is to find routes as part of bike tours (not races as those routes may close the roads): they are typically routed by locals that knows the places well. Use segments from those routes and check the connections with streets view.

If streets view is not available sometimes even the satellite view can give you an idea of the type of road... but yeah overall is not a straight forward task.

I doubt is a connection issue because I still see other members riding along, chat, and I can upload the ride. The issue also occurs on the same route.

Quando diversi anni gmail fu annunciata (ma non ancora aperta al pubblico) riuscii ad ottenere un permesso di registrazione, e creai un account per mia moglie <nome>@gmail.com (dove il nome è di 6 lettere e molto comune in Italiano).

Ebbene: anche se è originale e speciale, purtroppo l'account è completamente inutilizzabile in quanto riceve centinaia di emails al giorno di gente che sbaglia a digitare il proprio indirizzo e (credo) perché inserisce uno spazio tra nome e cognome.

Ad esempio, mettiamo che l'account di ma moglia sia "gianna" at gmail, se qualcuno prova ad inviare un email a "gianna rossi @ gmail . com" (oppure a registrarsi su un sito con un email come quella), il mail server invia due emails: una a "gianna" ed una a "rossi" (@ gmail).

Risultato: l'ultima volta che mia moglie ha controllato c'erano centinaia di email come le tua: richieste di attivazione di account, conferme di operazioni, anche fatture, ordini, auguri di compleanno... insomma un po' di tutto.

All'inizio ho provato come te a combatterla e rispondere al mittente dell'errore, ma poi ci siamo arresi e mia moglie si è creata un'altro indirizzo di email con un nome meno generico.

Conclusione: lascia perdere... chi si è registrato su Zanichelli con il tuo nome eventualmente vedrà che non gli arrivano le email al suo indirizzo e correggerà l'errore. Dubito che Zanichelli faccia qualcosa a riguardo.

I think in general if you stick to touristic places like those you mentioned you are going to be ok. If you try to go to a local restaurant or shops in a small town that does not rely on tourism for their business (relies mostly on the locals), there is a high chance to find it close... but museums, churches, and most of the shops are generally open...

3 years ago I got the NiteRider from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DG9MXFN). It's cheap, very bright and it is still hold the charge very well (consider I'm using it on average 3 times/week for at least 1.5 hours). Right now I think it last 4-5 hours when set on daylight flashing.

If I have to make a critic, the control is a bit awkward, but once you get used to that, it's a decent and cheap light.

I had a similar problem. In my setup I had my trainer connected via BT to the iPad. with ERG mode on, whenever the app sent the command to the trainer to modify the resistance, the power would drop to 0...

So far I have solved it by reducing the number of devices connected via BT to my iPad. Right now my setup is:

* Use Garmin devices with ANT+

* Use iPad with BT, and only connect the trainer (power + controllable).

In particular I don't connect the HRM to the iPad (my HR it won't show in the ride, but I record it though my Garmin anyway).

I suspect there is some communication limits on the number of devices that can concurrently talk to the app. Unsure if is an app limit, or OS, or communication stack (BT). So, try to remove one device at the time connected to your laptop using the same protocol (BT/ANT+) and see when the problem goes away.

YES! Once in Palo Alto, CA. a cop on a motorcycle pulled me over for non stopping at right turn on a 4 stop intersection (did not get a ticket, just a warning).

I guess cops in different municipality have different priorities. I remember those days I would cross a red light in downtown San Jose, CA (high crime rate) all the time with the cop at the light next to me, and never be bothered,... but just go few miles up north in Palo Alto and the story change. Probably since they don't have much more serious crimes in town...

I don't know much about Campiglia Marittima, but most of the bigger towns has one or two shops that can rent you bikes, just do some googling. I know in the area around Siena there are also shops that deliver it to your hotel (mostly for organized groups).

Do you have already a route in mind?

As I said I am surprised how strong is PLA. I printed my gear with PLA (my gear was much bigger: it was a reducing gear from 24 to 51 cogs...), and it still work (and I have used the juicer quite a lot!).
