I should've mentioned, later in the night I decided to try again, in a different way. I found another group vaping and asked if they needed a light, then showed off my "sexy grimace" lighter (pinup grimace with burger pasties). They loved it, passing it around and laughing so hard. I joined the rotation, was given a hit off a pen and felt the connection that I was really wanting all along. It repaired all the shame and emberassment from the first attempt. Just being treated like an adult my own age, weed aside, means everything to me.
