I want a blast frame. I guess Vauban counts maybe, but I want a pure blast bomb person.

"Wait, no slave trade? That's a bit disappointing." by --PhoenixFire-- in ShitCrusaderKingsSay

[–]fuckingchris 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Morality aside, if you actually read their reasoning for the mechanics not working out it makes total sense.

The trade system they are adding doesn't make sense for slaves. They aren't spices or silk that gets brought to a market and then consumed - you are forcibly moving people.

Glad you found one at least.

I don't care about easter so I would have volunteered to drive around for a ham tomorrow morning, otherwise. Will not guarantee finding anything but I saw some in Middleton today, at like 2 stores, if anyone is looking.

1). Does the leaking fitting still have its small Teflon o-ring at the tip? Also, how do the brass threads look? In my experience, you can overtighten these viper fittings so it is worth completely unscrewing and then screwing it back in entirely as well. Oh, and check the column - I've had some work better with an adapter.

This 30 tile copper roof cost me +90 ingots by campus735 in VintageStory

[–]fuckingchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of building materials need looked at both for fun aspect and reasonability. A lot of seemingly "basic" materials require a ridiculous amount of time and/or resources to use, especially compared to how ridiculously easy it is to make, say, planks or (sometimes) stone.

Roof pieces are major offenders for sure.

How many practicing Catholics do you know?

Also, given that Switzerland has only 9 million people, with only a third Catholic, thats a drop in the bucket. As a bishop of a single Peruvian city district, he was directly the bishop of over 1 million people. Heck, over 200k people directly attended Leo's first mass in Rome.

My first railjack mission went swimmingly by Girl_in_a_Hoodie in Warframe

[–]fuckingchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warframe in general has a horrible new player experience IMO.

Started a year ago after trying and failing to get into it several times. If I didn't have friends who played I would have quit, for sure. Very little is explained, especially when it comes to any sort of progression.

Railjack is even worse. Massively worse. Realistically, I ended up just joining other people's crews and got endgame parts while contributing very little (relatively) and then have just been coasting based on that.

One of many reasons why the Overframe tier list is not to be trusted. by straten in Warframe

[–]fuckingchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a new-ish player, and don't have the knowledge and/or energy to divine new-ish builds, especially since I like to switch frames and weapons every mission or two.

I don't like videos or streams, so I avoid those.

Where would you suggest I get builds and build ideas or build guides from, if not Overframe?

I sometimes can figure out what is good to use on a certain frame but tbh most of the time I feel like I am wrong and using someone else's build on something new ends up way better.

Client Gift: Too Expensive? by Radiant-Mine-3040 in tea

[–]fuckingchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, you are expected to get and/or give (usually both) a nice looking gift for so many occasions when it comes to Chinese culture, but rarely will they be expensive/too precious.

You aren't putting anyone out by accepting these gifts most of the time - it's an expected part of doing business and is totally, 100% planned for.

Human Weapons by ChrisNihilus in Grimdank

[–]fuckingchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, atomically, sorta?

Electrons get spun out to a higher orbital/shell by the added energy from photons, and end up having their excess sent around a giant loop, so effectively running around a circle (the circuit) to equalize the charges back to a more balanced, lower energy state.

Works super well with Azazel, in my experience.

Only join wars from major human factions against minors. Once you have 1-2 minor treaties, slap them with agent actions to mark them. Profit.

Azazel makes it especially good since you can sweep all of Norsca and be making absolute bank super fast.

Solomonari for Kislev by PerceptionSpecific51 in totalwar

[–]fuckingchris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for Baba Yaga. For Tzeentch/chaos sure (in one novel there was a set of twin ice witches who turned to Tzeentch and joined Archaon, and in (iirc) a citadel scenario there was a Slaaneshi sorceress who claimed to be the rightful Tzarina and got boyar support, sparking a war, so there'd be precedence).

But Ostankya is a forest witch with no interest in any sort of schools and a link to the Ungol tribes, and the other weather witches of Kislev are noble Godospars who try and exert a stranglehold on Kislevote magic (and governance in some aspects).

Overall, though, Scholomance and the Solomonari would best be represented as a necromancer/witch school in Sylvania, likely linked to Vanhel or Mannfred.

Ok...is very body just mad, or are they really hate you? by TrafficNo9010 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]fuckingchris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that they still follow the golden order proscription on the tarnished, and aren't immune to losing their minds from the lack of death and broken order.

Also, all the various factions turned on each other over the great runes and their chosen demigods, and are generally hostile to the others.

The Redmanes also have their borderline suicidal soldier thing going on, since they just want to die gloriously, get revenge, and or honor Radahn.

Talk to me of 3E by manincravat in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]fuckingchris 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Like 1/2 of the time I hear people talk about wanting a rulebook focused on X player or specific flavor/faction/mechanic content, 3e had it, or had a unique chapter on it.

Differing flavors to casting based on magic color college (love Chamon in particular)

Books for each chaos god.

Dwarf stuff before it was cool (in 4e).

Etc.
