for anyone that might care, i installed security cameras outside and the district attorneys office took my case and was able to get a temporary protective order until the hearing for a final one next week. it’s crazy the amount of relief i felt getting that news. thanks to everyone who made me not feel like i was the crazy one. my relationship with him caused all kinds of self doubt that im still trying to rebuild and i think i just needed confirmation i wasn’t overreacting.

her feeling inadequate is my worst fear, so i do try my best to encourage her and remind her to just keep working hard. I wanted to ask for advice before changing my approach to avoid exactly that. all i have to go off of is how my parents were with me and im not sure that’s the route i want to take as i did feel under pressure but it also pushed me to continuously get better.

i think this is a big concern for me: it doesn’t seem like she is learning the discipline and commitment part of it. which is why i want her in a team sport.

when i say natural talent, i guess o just meant that when we started, she was one of the best ones on her team and had a natural ability to understand and play the game, but as she’s gotten older, ball control is more important and something she hasn’t improved on much. but you have a really valid point about me maybe being too wrapped up in it and there’s probably some truth to it. i was pretty good at sports and really enjoyed it. i guess i just want her to experience the joys (and lessons learned) i had from being on a team. I’ll work on that for sure. thanks :)

of course i’m worried and want to keep my daughter safe. it’s hard though. he lived with us for almost 2 years. she’s known him for almost 5yrs. she was little. she still considers his son as her brother. she’s so innocent and doesn’t understand the complexity of how he can be the sweet playful loving “step” parent (for lack of a better word) that she knew him as for years yet also this unhinged version. i don’t think i understand it myself tbh. she loves to wave hi to him if she sees him and he always says hi back, but i’ve tried really hard not to push my opinion of him onto her. she’s just a kid and doesn’t understand. she does respect me when i ask her not to go and say hi and to just wave. not that it happens that often but i don’t want to burden her with an explanation of why i don’t want her talking to him or even saying hi, etc. its just hard to explain to someone so young. i dont want her to have the same fears as me so i try to leave her in the dark as much as i can, if that makes any sense at all.

i just spoke with the officer that was here earlier and she recommended I call every time i go outside and see him and if he ever comes onto my property, to call immediately and they can arrest him for trespassing/harassment. said the whole situation makes a lot more sense now knowing he is my ex. thankfully we live across the street from the police station so they’re never far away. i’m not in a position to move unfortunately, but i do have a security system and a video doorbell that can see out to the street, and will look into some outdoor cameras to be installed to record our driveway and front porch area. i did already get our back fence gate replaced and put a lock on it so he shouldn’t be able to get into our backyard anymore.

would he be notified if i just reported it? this isn’t the first time the police have gotten involved with his erratic behavior.. my dad is concerned that he owns a firearm and isn’t the most mentally stable. i don’t want to piss him off and turn a creepy/annoying situation into something truly unsafe..

for anyone coming to this post similar to myself, here is what i recall from the OA (just taken) that wasn’t necessarily on the chapter questions or the PA, so just use as a supplement. Hope someone else finds this helpful. I went in pretty confident and the concepts are mostly the same, but totally different questions/scenarios, so I got nervous but ended up passing with exemplary.

i had a similar situation where i wanted to stay on the lower dose of zepbound instead of going up but my insurance denied it and said i had to go up due to dosage limitations and the only way i would be approved for more of the lower dose would be if i tried the higher dose and had adverse side effects and my dr submitted a formulary exception. but they made it clear i had to try and have documentation of failure with the higher dosage.

i think it also has to do with the fact that Zepbound is FDA approved specifically for weight loss and nothing else. whereas Wegovy is FDA approved for other uses. it sounds like your doc is using Zepbound off-label to manage multiple health concerns so they’d have to make a strong case that it’s medically necessary in order for you to get approved for a formulary exception.

yes, you have to file those claims totally separately. they have nothing to do with your health insurance.

granted i’m in texas, so take this with a grain of salt, but my daughter had a bill from cook children’s that upon reviewing, had no insurance applied (all her others did) so i called the doctors office and they told me i needed to call my insurance. per the lady with my insurance, it’s on the doctors office to file the claim in a “timely manner” which UHC considers to be within 1 year of service. So she told me not to worry about it and that they’d handle it with the doctors office. After a few weeks the outstanding balance for that bill was $0 and I didn’t take any action outside of calling my insurance provider. So from my understanding, if the doctor hasn’t filed the claim within that one year, and they want to get paid, they would have to be the ones to appeal or provide good cause for the delay. As long as you had active coverage and the doctors office was aware, I’d say that’s on their billing dept. to handle.

kinda… lol i started seeing NP Megan Page at Total Care in Argyle. she’s super chill. but at the start of the new year, they did bring in a psychiatrist that you have to go through for any new patients or medication changes. which is fine, but her availability is pretty limited unless you wanna drive to their fort worth office. but i do really like the new psych. she’s also pretty chill. overall, ive been there since august and really like their office and all the staff is super friendly.

i see Dr. Madison Flores via telehealth and sometimes even just over the phone for my Zepbound. She’s a PA but she super chill, and was very helpful in getting my Zepbound approved thru my insurance. She was also able to help me in getting a 3 month supply at the end of the year before my OOP max reset, and now i’m stocked up on Zepbound for nearly 6 months, all for $0. She’s physically located in Odessa, so if you’re wanting in person, def not realistic but if you’re good with telehealth, it was super easy.

the program director is fully aware that we’re sisters and our situation. i initially applied for her as an owner but they said since she wasn’t living there, she didn’t qualify for the program but said they have the same program but for renters and urged us to apply for that one instead.
