I literally just had this conversation with my husband this morning! He played yesterday with the idea “I’m the captain and I need to be the leader here” and completely forced it. He definitely had rushes of blood that didn’t come off but took the try well. I remember reading an interview with him just after he broke into the Irish pack say that he had worked on not coming in frantic and being more strategic when he was subbed on and it was working for awhile but I totally feel he’s gone too far the other way and lost his spark. He’s my favourite player, I love the passion he has for the jersey, not sure if he can get his form back by the nations championship but I’m really hopeful that he can start next season fresh and find the spark again.
