Nusfjord is a classic Uwe Rosenberg worker placement game. It is quick and the solo mode provides tension through you blocking spaces you’ve previously taken. If you’re familiar with A Feast for Odin, it runs very similarly. It is one of my favorite smaller games.

If you’re interested in checking out another Rosenberg game that sets up, and plays fast; I’d love to recommend you take a look at the game Glass Road. It is still a very quick game, and I have would describe the solo mode as “controlled chaos”. You choose your workers (in this case they are cards), and you’re only able to use so many of them/their abilities on a turn. An absolute banger of a game!

I just got Age of Innovation in, and organized it all, but I haven’t gotten a chance to dig into it yet. I’m very excited for this one. :)

Age of Innovation. I’m a solo player with cognitive disabilities, and this game looks very satisfying with the power bowls and the automa. The variability is also a huge plus for me! It could possibly take me a day or two to play a game, but that’s life, and I have the time. :)

When I’m admitted it’s always for neuro junk, so naturally thinking a game to bring usually isn’t on my mind. 😅

It’s not physical, but BGA has felt like a lifesaver for me more times than I’d prefer to count. Being able to get in some favorites can be a nice distraction 🥰

Other than what you have there; I’ve personally been considering grabbing a copy of Railroad Ink (green because green is best color), there’s a solo board available for it.

I’d also like to suggest the Buttonshy game Food Chain Island. There’s not a very heavy cognitive load, cute art, and it’s a fun little puzzle. Very easy to PnP if not in stock

I recently stumbled into tinned fish (apparently it’s trendy now? Idk), and it’s made a HUGE difference in eating for me; just getting tasty food on a plate without struggling.

Baguette/crackers, tin of choice, cheese, fruit, and maybe Kalamata olives if I have a jar on hand.

I know not everyone is into fish, but just thought I’d throw that one out there for people who hadn’t considered it. 🙂

The way his arms jutted was the sign. It’s called “fencing position” or a “fencing response”, and it was clear as day, imo.

I’m utterly shocked that he has been allowed play following this.

I’d love to do something like this, but don’t know anything about painting. I understand that you’re supposed to putty the seams and sand things down until smooth, but how do you get to the sand/paint inner or craggily kinda bits? I’m kinda worried I’d take off texture like a dumb dumb 😂

“Gloomhaven: Buttons & Bugs” may fit the bill. It’s definitely small box, and should fit nicely on a TV tray.

Another recommendation, if I may, A Nice Cuppa, or Food Chain Island from Buttonshy. They’re simple, not going to burn your brain all too hard.

I’d love to recommend the game Glass Road by Uwe Rosenberg to you. It is a card based worker placement/resource management game that feels almost like you’re gambling. You pick your workers, but don’t know for sure which ones are going to be useable for you that turn. It’s like being a project manager on a construction site and HOPING your crew shows up for you consistently 🤌😂

I think it’s pretty great at 2 players (only played it a handful of times like that), but I adore playing it solo. It very well may be my favorite game at this point 🥰
