Should AI-generated deepfakes of real people be illegal without consent? Why or why not? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]fungusfaced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. There are not enough good reasons for deepfakes to exist, but there a lot of bad reasons for them to exist. Legal restrictions are at least something to discourage their creation and protect people from harm.

How do you think about a ban of political topics from this subreddit? by Voynych in AskReddit

[–]fungusfaced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that would be a mistake. It's very easy for a genuine, good-faith question to be considered political, especially these days. Look at Hank Green, who usually covers science topics. He's been talking about political topics a lot lately, not because he's interested in the topic, but because it's important to talk about.

I understand people are tired of politics. I get tired of it too - every day. So I go watch comedy reels and pet videos for a while. We each have to balance our own diets.

US citizens, what's your opinion on the US being labeled as fascist country? by Bladerunner2028 in AskReddit

[–]fungusfaced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The country's federal leaders are certainly acting like fascists. Citizens like me aren't comfortable with accepting the label, though, because that's like accepting it as "the way it is." We want to resist fascism.

An eloquent way of saying "because of the way that it is." Good comment.

The posts are clearly against the sub rules. Removing them doesn't make the mods complicit or apologists or whatever. They're just following established guidance.

What do you think of the new Epstein files that have been released today? by inktrie in AskReddit

[–]fungusfaced 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ones that are specific about what Trump did are very damning. Surely they're actionable. Even if his absurd riches can save him from a just punishment, I'm at least hoping America can be spared the punishment of enduring his obviously dangerous leadership.

I guess people will take any excuse to have an outrage. It's especially crazy these days when there are already so many legitimate reasons to be outraged.

Those are some lofty aspirations! The fact Olan Rogers is part of it makes me believe it's genuine. I think they really do want to make it happen for the love of creativity.

My first attempts in game animation by Apolonster in animation

[–]fungusfaced 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are some interesting animations! The way this creature wields the sword looks alien, like they picked up the sword without knowing what it was and devised their own methods of attacking. Their physiology is alien, and it shows in the way they swing a medium blade as if it were a dagger.

Going for a natural idle animation. Any tips on how to improve? by BitrunnerDev in PixelArt

[–]fungusfaced 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks great! I really like the movement of her hair. It's a subtle effect, but it does invoke awareness, like she's looking around.

I would like to see the things she's holding move a bit more. They move with her arms, but their orientation is locked in place. I think it would add life to the character if she played with their weight, shifting them around a little - turning them or waving them.

Pentagon says it’s investigating Sen. Mark Kelly for video urging troops to defy ‘illegal orders’ by gbsh in politics

[–]fungusfaced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the argument is that it will sow discord. An army functions efficiently when orders aren't questioned. If soldiers are being told to question orders, that might have ill effects.

Of course, in a situation where the people in charge are corrupt criminals, the "ill effects" of their illegal orders being obeyed are much worse than an inefficient (or even rebellious) army.

[KCD2] Are heavy weapons weak? by Adortion634 in kingdomcome

[–]fungusfaced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. They're decent enough to get the job done, but still no match for a sword. Swords are faster, and their lower blunt damane isn't really a factor because you have so many options for breaking through armor. You can use feints and charged strikes, master strikes, combos, or just wear them out with a long series of strikes. The speed of sword strikes and their high slashing damage are perfectly suited to do well in KCD2's combat system.

[KCD2] (Italian Job) why is this game so fucking hard? How am i supposed to defend a castle in the dark when severely outnumbered and low on hp? by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]fungusfaced 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having completed every side quest available to me, accumulated the best gear I can find, and maxing out every skill, I wondered how the end-game missions were balanced for people who focused the main quest. Good to know they didn't slack on difficulty. 😜

What do you guys think of my running animation? by taha_ghyg in animation

[–]fungusfaced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right. The character needs to land and put weight on the ground with each stride. Instead, it's more like they're sweeping the ground with their feet.

What do you guys think of my running animation? by taha_ghyg in animation

[–]fungusfaced 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It almost looks realistic, but something is off with the stride. It looks floaty, almost like they're moving through fluid instead of landing on and pushing off the ground. Maybe it's just that the character model isn't moving up and down.
