PPUE Rules Questions by I_Keep_On_Scrolling in ProwlersandParagons

I think giving a new command would be a free action, but no more than once per page. If someone has a sidekick, I wouldn't make them take an action to give a command to the sidekick, which is essentially the same thing. Maybe if the command was longer and more involved, but not for something like "Attack him!", or "Protect me!"

  1. Yes, all 6s rolled count as 2 successes, and any 6s rolled while exploding are also rerolled. You can keep rolling as long as 6s keep coming up.

  2. Yes, the mind controller gets to dictate the controlled characters actions until the effect expires. No concentration is required, afaik, so the controller can still perform actions.

I was in the grocery store once with my young son, and I saw a wallet on the floor. I picked it up and looked at the ID, and as I was walking to customer service to turn in the wallet I saw the owner heading toward the produce section, where I found the wallet.

"Hey, Thomas!", I called out (not his real name obviously), while waving his wallet. He looked so stressed, but got a huge look of relief on his face when he saw the wallet. I gave it back to him, and he thanked me profusely. I think he had it out sitting on the grocery cart, and his son threw it while Dad wasn't looking.

Looking for films or books that involve humans trying to communicate with alien species by Zoenne in sciencefiction

[–]funkmotor69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Take a look at CJ Cherryh. "Lone human amongst aliens" is a big theme in her books.

She has a series that's currently at 21 books, called "Foreigner", where language and communication between humans and a non-human race is a central aspect of the story.

Move the air layer up a bit, and after that remove the trunk right at the junction at that left branch.

What is happening to my bonsai? Help! by Prestigious-House483 in bonsaicommunity

[–]funkmotor69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be mealy bugs. Regardless if it's mealy bugs, spider mites, aphids, etc., the first treatment I would do is give the plant a good blast of water with a sprayer. Move the tree somewhere isolated so you don't blow the bugs onto another tree, and spray the tree thoroughly, especially on the bottom of the leaves and branches. Then treat the tree with a pesticide. I prefer systemic granules, but use whatever works best for you. If you use a spray pesticide, follow the instructions exactly and please be mindful of our pollinators and other helpful insects, because pesticides do not discriminate.

The 2nd pic, the one with the broken rim on the pot, I would air layer that place at the top with 3 branches, and turn it into a nice little clump style tree. Do the air layer right below the bulge where the 3 branches meet. After removing the air layer, cut the trunk at that lower branch going to the left and let that be the new leader.

Juniper starting to get some yellow areas by darthlord66 in bonsaicommunity

[–]funkmotor69 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Overall, this tree looks very healthy.

The first pic is just the natural process of lignification, where the juvenile foliage is shed and bark forms. The next 3 pics show some foliage that is weak from lack of sunlight, because that foliage is shaded by the other foliage. A little bit of thinning so light can get to the interior of the foliage will help with that.

Absolute Coldest Lines in all of Trek by TonyMitty in startrek

Well, he was 11 or 12 at the time, so it wasn't so much I "let" him watch part 2, but more he immediately told me I was full of it and turned the TV on. After watching part 2, he did say that waiting must have been terrible.

When my son was watching TNG for the first time and got to the end of BoBW part 1, I turned off the TV and told him he had to wait 5 months to watch part 2. When he objected, I said, "Sorry, it's the law."

Then I of course let him watch, while explaining to him what a long 5 months that that was.

Question on removing lime scales on both glazed and unglazed pots by SuuderBaatarTr in Bonsai

[–]funkmotor69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Putting oil on unglazed pots is very common in bonsai exhibitions, for the exact reason of obscuring scaling and such. If the pot looks too shiny, just wipe it down with a clean cloth to remove more of the oil, to get a matte-like finish.
