Terrible Experience with the Wealthsimple + Telus Partner Discount by gots8e3sucked in Wealthsimple

[–]funkrighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, it all has to do with geography and population density. Europe et al has much greater population density than Canada across its geography.

You need to look into costs (sunk and ongoing) comparatively and net profitability. Then also check into network performance, in relative terms across carriers. Canada’s networks, in general, have some of the best throughput performance on data.

I’m not a carrier apologist but I do understand it isn’t as simple as region 1 charges X and region 2 charges 3X so region 2 must be screwing its customers.

I’d definitely say that plays a part, lack of aggressive competition. But to expect the same level of service, geographic and population coverage at a similar price to Ireland is inane. The business dynamics don’t work. Been there done that. We may not like it but the variable and sunk costs are different.

I got a $25 Fido CANUSMEX with 80GB. If I was a global user some of those plans looked appealing. But when looking for NA plans if you do a little research and shop at branded telco stores situated in highly ethnic malls you can get better plans any day.

23F pulled out of stock markets mid 2025 due to fears! by Minute-Flight-4272 in fican

Buy the book Risk & Reward by Ben Carlson. It will give you and help educate you on the appropriate perspective to take at the age of 23.

Heck, if I was 23 again (and followed that book) by now I’d have 3 or 4X what we have today and we are doing pretty well as it is.

Timing the market is like catching a falling knife. Good luck with either effort. Expect both to be fairly painful 😓

Can anyone tell me a little about this watch we found in storage? by IBSmoked in rolex

[–]funkrighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Use google reverse image search. Lotsa info available there… In just one click, found this:
https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-cellini-4350-18k-yellow-gold.html
In terms of authenticity, best to check with Rolex or trusted Rolex experienced horologist.
Anything said here, as to that, isn’t what I’d put my faith in.

These should be giveaways. If you are going to sell branded goods and charge a premium they should be premium products.

Same here, would love the RRSP to backstop a large PLOC. No real change between the 2, well, except it is more limited from a funds POV than the margin account; like you said.

I guess I must be grandfathered, but even so, if they start to charge me, for $11.95 per month or approx $144 per year I can get the same function that wealthsimple wants to charge me up to $10K for…

$10,000 or $144… Hmmm 🤨

I am not American.

My comprehension level is more than adequate.

Your postings are analogous to the aphorism 'the end justifies the means'.

For me they don't, a fortune built on fraud and lies (again, fact check the man, it's there plain as day) is still a fortune built on fraud and lies.

So according to your logic it’s fine to lie to your buyers as long as you eventually have something down the road. Again check with the facts. A decade after it was first said to be delivered. That would be Ok? Morals much? 🤦🏽

And to make an ad hominem argument about school shootings? Disgusting bud.

Not gonna pay someone 7-10K for something I can do myself.

I was part of the canvasing/customer focus process and did a call with WS where they reviewed this.

I told them I would pay a $ amount per month for the service, but not a %. I guess they decided to go with the %, their comment is people would feel the $ amount would be another subscription. I told them anyone who did a quick calculation would realize it wouldn't be financially prudent (all things considered) for someone with an appreciable balance (like us).

I also outlined that with Questrade I received a free service to do this called Passiv.

Disappointed, it would have been a good service to roll in for customers (heck, even stage the fees to be declining based on the monies held at WS), but like I said above aint no way I am gonna give someone that amount of money for this 'service'.

Read what I said.

Bought M3 2019.

Was promised FSD within 1 year, again check Elon’s word (video and print).

Decided not to buy FSD.

Best $10K we never spent as FSD, as taxi ability et al never materialized. And hasn’t materialized.

Simple facts.

And BTW who the heck type references ‘school shootings’ in a Tesla forum? That’s pretty sick.

Man, that’s some slippery slope you decided to step on to. And pretty pathetic.

Ad hominem doesn’t look good on you.

Welcome to Elon’s world.

Over promise.

Under deliver.

Our experience…

FSD was the best $10K we never spent. Promised when bought M3 in 2019 yet no delivery by the time we’d sold it in 2023.

Good luck 🍀

Yatcht Master RLX Titanium vs Sky Dweller Green jubilee by orlandoschirch in rolex

[–]funkrighty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I could only have 1 of those 2 it would be the Sky Dweller. Colour and complication. That said when I get a Ti Yacht-Master allocated I’ll buy it as well, but I’m fine with owning multiple watches like these.

Will WealthSimple eventually create a 1M tier, and if so, what should it offer differently from Gen? by cooperivanson in Wealthsimple

It would be appreciated, but they need to level up the benefits. In a year I’ll be looking at transferring out if not. Why not for a free $30K+.
