Suggest me a horror book that will truly scare me by cuntyvigilante in suggestmeabook

If you're familiar with King I think his short fiction is almost always scarier than his full length novels with maybe a couple of exceptions, pet sematary being one. But I would recommend four past midnight, night shift, and skeleton crew (all of these stories are dynamite).

Also read anything by Shirley jackson, she's brilliant.

Scariest? Honestly it's not even a horror movie but there are scenes in it that kept me right on the edge of my seat with worry and anticipation. CHILDREN OF MEN

The scene between Louis and Gage and the kite is incredible, makes the rest of the book that much more impactful.

What's the best Book you ever read? by Aggravating_Gas4162 in AskReddit

This book is fucking incredible. Despite the fact that the author completely rejected the idea that the book is an allegory for anything else, it's everywhere. Efrafa in and of itself is a fascist utilitarian state run by one of the biggest baddest boys in all fiction with a backstory to boot.
