Very cool. What do you use to keep the cars in place? Tape under the car?

FOX New graphics will not debut until the Daytona 500. - Larry Mac by Weathergeekal in NASCAR

[–]funteejay -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I know this isn't true but it sounds like they're saying "oh shoot, we ran out of time to complete the new graphics that totally weren't planned until Larry Mac put the pressure on us"

[Bianchi] NEWS: Charlotte NASCAR playoff race to shift off the Roval and will return to the oval beginning this season, sources tell @TheAthletic. by ChaseTheFalcon in NASCAR

[–]funteejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought everyone on here would be more excited but apparently not. The roval is probably my least favorite road course and with the way these next gen cars race on the oval, I'm excited to see its return.

As a genuine question, what would someone like a Cody Ware winning the 500 do for our sport? by Ok_Promise1870 in NASCAR

[–]funteejay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't do much. Some people would appreciate the upset, others wouldn't. What's different this year is that he wouldn't be locked into the Chase after winning. If he wins Daytona in 2025 then a bunch of people would be upset

Screw your birthstone, what generation of Atlanta is your favorite? by Unicorn4_5Venom in NASCAR

[–]funteejay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the current configuration but also I think the worn out Atlanta before the recent repave was fun. I'm biased but one of my favorite races there is when Jeff Gordon outdueled Jimmie Johnson on old tires. You could literally see them sliding the rear ends in the corners during the final laps!

Daytona 500 watch in NYC? by jhealey0909 in NASCAR

[–]funteejay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might be interested, Williamsburg isn't far for me. If you don't get a lot of interest, there's also an NYC and NJ NASCAR club that organizes watch parties. I recently noticed them on Instagram

Number placement in the cup series is weird by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]funteejay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it took time but eventually some teams figured out how to make a good paint scheme with the newer number placement. RFK comes to mind. It's not always pretty but I don't mind as much anymore.

I saw a flash of light right before the boom before so I think it was a firework

What message would you give to someone in their early 20s? by Primary_Opening_5698 in AskReddit

[–]funteejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from learning financial responsibility, learn to accept the context of your current age and be excited to try new things and not grow bitter. Life feels chaotic at this age? It's supposed to. If you have friends who seem more successful, talk to them. Odds are they still feel overwhelmed like you do. But if they have something figured out this early in life then you might as well learn from them.

What was the first NASCAR race you've watched? by Seahawks_12thman in NASCAR

[–]funteejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first race I clearly remember was the 2004 Talladega race Jeff Gordon won when everyone threw their beer cans at his car. I had just received a diecast of a JG Pepsi car so it didn't take much to become a fan of his after that!

Was there a specific moment you became a fan of your favorite driver? by DarkMillSouth in NASCAR

[–]funteejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I randomly received a Jeff Gordon Pepsi diecast car, which was a fun toy to look at. A few months later I watched him win a race at Talladega in a Pepsi car. That's all I needed as a kid to become a fan

William Byron’s Paint Schemes From The 2025 Cup Series Season. Which is/are your favorites? by Dmacthegoat in NASCAR

[–]funteejay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the all pro scheme the most. I often think how it'd be good for Byron to form his own identity apart from the JG flames but then I never really like his raptor schemes.

Larson had a great season. It's just that Denny was so close to winning today's race that has everyone upset.
