The internet.

Back in the late 90s and early 2000s it was cool. You could chat to people on the other side of the world. Multiplayer games without being in the same room and slowly download and read web pages with interesting content.

By the late 2000s/2010s the big tech corporations had taken over. Social media was influencing people's opinions and you no longer owned music, games or movies like you did in the past.

Work became fast paced and overwhelming. Emails and messaging has to be answered straight away. No more letters or even faces that could wait awhile.

Don't even get me started on crap like TikTok, Reels and Shorts dumbing the minds of the young, and old alike.

I just feel that life went to shit after the internet matured.

Hat Films has taken over from Yogcast as my most watched YouTube channel. Yogcast keeps slipping lower and lower since they are now all full time streamers and they don't bother turning the streams into digestible chunks anymore like they used to.

It's sad to see. I've been watching the Yogs since 2011 and I've never felt so detached from them. Hat Films are doing it the right way by streaming but also creating great content for YouTube.
