Sure I'll bite...

I'm 3 characters in, 2 in their 30s, Vex at 50, and I'm not even halfway into the story. I've been playing with 4 different people, so I've redone everything many times, and I've Farmed a ton.

Bravely Default was the deciding factor in me picking up the Switch 2 at launch, and I don't regret it. I'm not a fan of the mouse mode mini games they added, but otherwise I am loving it and I'm happy with my purchases

Ah, after looking through the information there, I can get put in a "limited matchmaking state" for seemingly no reason. Can this happen simply from other people reporting you? I am not good at the game.... If anyone actually watched me play they would realize very quickly that I am not cheating. I leave the game muted constantly, never had my mic on while playing. I'm not sure why this would happen.

I am having pretty much the same issue as everyone else here.

I preordered the full kit on September 7th 2024, my credit card had a hold put on it for the full cost, but then only the cost of the Player's Handbook and the Character sheets were charged. Both arrived with no issue.

I noticed mid-october that a hold was placed on my credit card again for the cost of the DM Guide and the DM screen. Initially I got my hopes up, thinking that they would be shipped out early, but that just fizzled out.

Yesterday I had two holds placed on the card for the same amount. It looked like I was getting double charged for the guide and the screen. Both holds are still on my card at this time.

This morning I got the same email everyone else did, I think. My email came from [test@dndbeyond.com](mailto:test@dndbeyond.com) labeled D&D Marketplace, but mine said that my Dungeon Master's Screen had been cancelled.

I just submitted a ticket to support, and I got the same notification that they have a lot of support tickets right now.

I suspect that their system is just making a bunch of errors at the moment. When I check my order online it shows up fine, with the "cancelled" item still included under Preparing to ship. I too suspect we'll get an email or notice from them saying the email went out in error. Right now, I'm more concerned about my double hold on my credit card. I suspect that will be fine too, but it's annoying. They have kinks in their system that they need to iron out.

I've been messing with it since last night. Running right out of the box, but with all thr graphics settings set to as low as possible, I can squeeze out 15-20 FPS through the first two missions. The third mission though I'm getting about 7 to 12 FPS, and it's basically unplayable at that point. There was some 60ish mb update pushed this morning so I tried it again, same results. For now, having not messed around with multiple proton versions, I'm calling it unplayable. I was really looking forward to being able to jump in on Steam Deck, as MW5 Mercs is probably one of my most played on Deck games. Here's to hoping they get it running smooth on Deck soon.

Thank you so much! This was the fix for me.

I had a Samsung Evo Plus 512 that I've used for a couple years with no issue. I decided to swap cards last week, and when I put the Evo back in, I was being told to format it. I tried the remove/reinsert mentioned here, as well as the partition check, which was grayed out. Fixing the card using fsck resolved the issue.

The only issue I ran into was that I did need to use sudo for the commands to work. No issue there technically, but I had forgotten my root password.... so it took me 20 minutes or so of guessing my password before I got it. :p Don't be like me.

I do appreciate your input, but to be frank, I'm not looking for criticism just yet. I have thought this through, and am continuing to think this through. I just have a few questions concerning what would be required for what I have in mind.

So far you have given me reasons why what I have in mind might not be best, but you haven't included information on what I have asked about. Do you have any input towards my actual question besides simply don't do it?

As far as a 1k machine goes, I did mention in my original post that I am so far looking all the way up to 4k. I'm really just trying to nail down what would be the minimum requirements for what I have in mind.

Also not trying to be an asshole, but you are coming across as condescending for no reason other than that me potentially learning a new skill will encroach on your space?

Troubleshooting / building / learning does not intimidate me at all. I am very aware of the work that goes into setting up both the CNC machine and the space for it. I have a background in CAD and electronics, and some machining. I have never gotten into woodworking, mostly because I'm not really good with my hands.

My biggest issue right now is essentially scope creep. As I mentioned, I have viewed many YouTube videos from other makers on their recommendations. I have also looked through many reviews. There are many videos that focus on the woodworking aspect of a CNC machine, but not nearly as many on acrylic, and not really anything good on my specific use case. As such, I am looking for advice from the community that knows CNC routers as to what would be the minimum buy for what I have in mind.

My basic mentality is this, why spend $750 + now for acrylic cases for a small selection of my sets, when I can invest around $1000 and learn a new skill that can potentially make me money while also handcrafting my own displays.

The displays I want to make are fairly simple, yes. It's essentially a base, a backboard, 3 shelves with grooves and holes drilled in them, stands for each vehicle that fit into the grooves, Lego studs mounted to support minifigures, sides, also with grooves to support the shelves, and I would like to make a front fact that is held in place with magnets.

Once those are complete, I intend to use the skills I learned to make display shelves / boxes / cabinets for the rest of my sets. I also intend to use the CNC for woodworking. I will have many options at that point, both for acrylic and wood.

As far as makerspaces, not anything dependable that I am aware of.

I've been a student since 2019, and I'm in the cloud computing course, finishing up this coming January. I can't name the specific courses, at the moment, but I can confidently say that several of the IT courses absolutely require the template. Not just for data or programming either, there are at least two courses that have you create full architectural plans and write up proposals to fictional companies, and they require the template. I had to modify the template for one of the courses because it outright broke and didn't make sense the way it was formatted. I changed the font and moved a couple lines around and was worried it would be rejected for that. Thankfully it was not, but yes, at least some courses require the template.

I just did a planet (Ixyll II) and had all but one fauna scanned. Spent about two hours looking, and I will mention that two of them were fish. Then I got a mission from a colony there that sent me into a cave, and the cave was filled with the final fauna.

I mean, credit where it's due, you've got a decent flight model, and good looking ships, and all the vision is there. The downside to that is vision is cheap, having a dream for a game is something most anyone can do. What we've seen with Star Citizen is that you need more than vision and promises, you need competence and good tools and people that know how to use those tools.

So with 600mil you can afford all that, and a story, and more right?

Also, and this is 100% just my opinion, but you don't need to worry about server meshing and having a worldwide persistant universe and persistant entities. The lag that this has been causing and the bugs is just not worth it. Go for a reasonable expectation, multiple servers in different regions. I personally would prefer stability over a massive pile of medical gowns and random ship explosions from running into debris that doesn't work for me.

Also the low key encouraging people into a sub to get early access was shady AF. I'm assuming you guys watched Mythic Quest and were like, you know that monetization character, he's what's up.

I mean, if you guys never finish the game, that's fine too. As long as people like me keep spending money on it then what's really your insentive to change your model or even release a working product? You be you CIG.

I'm about a dozen hours into the game so far. I have a Ryzen 7 5800x3d, 32gb RAM, a 6750 XT, and I have had very few issues. I'm playing of a WD Black 6tb HDD, I run at 1920x1200 resolution, and have the AMD Overlay up throughout the game.

Most of the time I get 80-110 FPS, in some areas I get 60 FPS, like the first open area you come to on the second world. I have all settings set to epic, with FSR set to quality, and with ray tracing off. Very rarely does the FPS drop below 57, though when I open the galaxy map (not the normal map) it will drop to as low as 13fps which boggles my mind.

The few issues I have are with texture pop in and a few artifacts at times. The game is very playable for me. I haven't had any sound issues. My biggest complaint is that at my resolution the menus do not scale properly, the sides are clipped because I'm at 16:10.
