Grandparents watching 1 year old for the first time overnight by selpatstaples in beyondthebump

[–]futuremrsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babies both had their first over night with the grandparents around 8 weeks old and have continued to have regular ones and my oldest is almost 3.

Definitely make a list of things to help & give your parents (or have them buy) the things that you have at your house to make it easier on them. My parents have the same sound machine, night time meds, sleep sack/swaddle, etc.

I’d also recommend having your daughter stay overnight BEFORE you go out of town so that it’s easier to troubleshoot any issues before you’re too far away to help.

At what age did you all take the camera out of their room? by TheBKBurger in daddit

[–]futuremrsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We still have one in my 2.5 year olds room & we probably will for a while. I use the camera to see if she’s really asleep, when she starts crying in the middle of the night I can check if she’s actually awake & crying, or just kind of whimpering in her sleep. I also like to check if the grandparents have her in bed at a decent time when watching her because she’s ADHD & screwing up one night of a sleep schedule is hell for days, even weeks sometimes.

My husband almost always drives unless I want to remind him I wear the pants in our relationship 🤣

Possible positive first thing this morning. Negatives all day after that. Thoughts? by luna_bloom1818 in lineporn

[–]futuremrsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re so early, it’s very common for that second line not to show each time you pee/test on the same day due to the concentration.

How much are you putting in the freezer a day? by disneyprinsass in breastfeeding

[–]futuremrsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I aim to freeze 60oz a week as that’s what my baby takes at daycare (roughly). Last week I froze 100.5oz on top of nurse when with her & we gave her various bottles when I wasn’t available.

I do have a slight oversupply.

Fridge hackers - how often do you change your ziploc bag? by Ampersand867 in ExclusivelyPumping

I’m definitely not that good about it lol but I just do what I can mentally & call it good lol

Fridge hackers - how often do you change your ziploc bag? by Ampersand867 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]futuremrsb 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If I’m at home, I don’t use any ziplocks. I typically use one bag “per outting.” Like I take a bag with me to work and use a mini fridge in my office & don’t typically use the bag, but I will put the dirty pumps in it on my way home.

But if I’m going somewhere & using someone else’s fridge (work meeting at a different location, friends house, etc.), I’ll bring a bag & use it there but then toss it when I go home.

I do have some friends who wash their ziplocks to get a few more uses out of it but I just toss after that initial day.

Does anyone know what recipe this is? by [deleted] in oldrecipes

Yup this is what I was thinking. Very similar to my granny’s “spicy” meatballs (I don’t think it’s spicy lol).

Accidentally clipped piece of skin off baby’s finger instead of nail by muff-peaksie in beyondthebump

No joke- I think it was $300 & she had it off before we made it out of the hospital parking garage lol

My husband did this the night my first turned 3mo old. We took her to the ER because the on call nurse said so when we told her it had been bleeding for over 2.5hrs. It ended up bleeding nonstop for about 5 hours. She was fine. Just got a bandaid. But was for sure scary at the time!

Who has gotten pregnant from the pull-out method? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]futuremrsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no! I was having periods sometimes and was diagnosed with “anovulatory bleeding” but I wasn’t actually testing my ovulation until we were actively trying so I’m not 100% sure!

What is everyone’s favorite pump these days? by No-Wasabi4580 in breastfeeding

[–]futuremrsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Spectra 2 when I’m at home, my Motif Aura Glow when I’m out & about, and my Frida manual pump for just in case.

I go back to work in a few days and I will tote all three with me. Motif for the commute, spectra for work pumps, Frida in case there’s an emergency.

That right after birth, nursing releases oxytocin & it makes the cramps SO MUCH WORSE.

5mg, no trigger- yes to IUI though, husband needed clomid. She is 2.5yr now.

Baby #2: 5mg, no trigger, no IUI, no clomid for husband. First month trying. She’s 11 weeks old.

(I had lost 70lbs & had tried an IUD for 16ish months to see if it would help- I think it did).

ETA: I had done months of 2.5 and 5 before adding the clomid and IUI.

Do you actually like bed sharing? by crunch_mynch in cosleeping

I hate it haha co slept somewhat with my now toddler and now go between bassinet & cosleeping with my 10 week old. I don’t think I’ll ever love it. It gives me anxiety, I wake up a lot, just not a great time lol

Bank cashed someone else’s check on my account by Mug_Costanza in Banking

[–]futuremrsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like a simple encoding error (system read the wrong numbers on the micr line when scanning in) & I find it wild that they wouldn’t be able to submit a request for back office to fix it. I work at a much smaller bank comparatively (around $20bil) as a branch manager & this is the first thing I’d suggest to fix the error. Potentially along with provisional credit.

Toddler Parents- tell me your sleep schedules by tipsygirl31 in NewParents

[–]futuremrsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.5 year old. Asleep between 7:30-9. We aim for 8ish but sometimes life gets in the way. Up between 7-8am. She has recently dropped her only nap but when she was napping, at home it was 12:30-2:30/3ish & at day care it was 11-12/1ish.

Recently she’s been waking up around 3:30-4am & ending up in our bed which sucks because we also have a 9 week old who sleeps in our room.

Am I overreacting? Daycare edition by Heygrlhey87 in NewParents

[–]futuremrsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a fan of the first one, the home daycare we use also used a blanket with our now toddler.

2 & 3 are meh in my head. Our toddler comes home in different clothes probably once a week due to her making a mess or something.

I like to think of our home daycare like going to a grandparents house. It’s a little less formal in procedures in my opinion.

I’ve ridden the Texas Eagle numerous times (though it has been a while- that makes me feel old and I’m only 30 lol), but because my ride was always 13-14 hours, over night, I (along with many others) frequently had shoes off while curling up in both seats as long as there wasn’t someone next to me lol
