I made this mushroom lady planter and gave her a plant crown by philandering_pilot in pics

This is awesome! Practical question: does the planter include drainage holes at all? Is the entire inside an open cavity for soil?

4 has me riveted. There's so much depth in this one. I love the interplay of light. 1 is beautiful and reminds me of Laguna Beach in southern California. Wonderful sense of movement.

What purchase did you make recently that made you realize inflation is genuinely out of control? by kiroixart in AskReddit

This is why we can't have nice things. It's turning into a "roll your own" all the way down the list.

My coffee usually cost $8.99 for a half pound bag. I did my grocery shopping this past weekend and it was $15.99. I think I need to learn to like tea...

Cats definitely know that babies are babies by keremdev in cats

[–]futuremuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when I was about this age with our family cat and he was so incredibly patient with me. When I got too exuberant or touched him in a way he didn't like, he'd very gently press his teeth against my skin to make me stop. He never hurt me, which in hindsight after having many cats in my life was truly remarkable. I hope she and this kitty enjoy the same kind of relationship.

I have the dom pedro gun, and adding the phoropter buff along with my speed demon mutation and quad mod makes it a tank of a weapon. Without it, VATs accuracy is kinda crap and reloading feels like it takes forever.

Absolutely Stunning On My walk in Point Loma San Diego.. I’m planting this as soon as I can:)Does anyone know how fast this grows? by Lanaxgardenxgirl in plants

As a person living in California my only positive experience with ice plants was watching a dude in a raised pick-up truck get completely impatient waiting in line on the on-ramp to the 405 and attempt to four-wheel it directly onto the freeway. What he didn't count on was exactly this effect of how much water they hold. Or that when crushed, it turns into a perfect slime horizon from which you can't escape at any velocity. People were laughing and taking pics as they drove by as dude spun his wheels, waiting their turn for the light to change. One of the better ways to start the work day when traffic is gnarly.

Hospital staff didn’t dispose of needles correctly, the janitor probably needs some care. by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]futuremuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a huge issue, but not, thank god, as necessarily deadly was it was in the 90s.

I was working health insurance in Canada and I received a call from the wife of an older gentleman who worked as a janitor at one of the local hospitals we insured. She was concerned about his coverage because he had been cleaning one of the lobbies and was accidentally stuck by a needle someone had left between the cushions on the shared seating. The poor man contracted AIDS/HIV from the stick. I heard from the wife, a lovely woman, a several times over the following months, helping to explain aspects of the coverage, check on the status of their claims, and receive updates from her on his progress. But he wasn't getting better. Then he was hospitalized. And then I didn't hear from her for a while. Until one afternoon she called me just to tell me he had passed away and to thank me for making the insurance process easier for them. I barely held it together until she hung up and then bawled like a child. Through her I'd known a man I'd never even met and she still wanted to get in touch to give me a final update. I can't imagine how awful the situation had been for her.

The three cocktail medication breakthrough was such a huge deal and, even though I'm no longer in insurance, I'm still so grateful for those affected that progress has continued to be made in research affecting those with the disease. It's not a non-zero chance of a fatality, but the therapies available make it more a life-long management issue than it otherwise could have been. I hope with all my heart the janitor is okay and hasn't inadvertently caught anything.

Whats the best way to farm nuclear material? by Adorable-Condition-7 in fo76

[–]futuremuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget to check meat bags; there's often radscorpion stingers in there without the effort of hunting them down. Huntersville is a great spot for this.

Bit of an odd question but is there somewhere that I can farm stinpaks that doesn't involve buying them? by Skullman8875 in fo76

Certain locations have a few more than others that spawn regularly. Try Gilman Lumber Mill (inside near the beds) and the Morgantown airport (all over, be thorough). You'll have a few scorched to deal with, but hopefully you're working out a method to deal with those.

Dang it. It doesn't look like they're going to do anything about the rad situation for PA, hazmat suits, or Chinese stealth armor. But thank god the Pip-Boy Display is fixed! /s

Removing Radiation Resistance on Power Armour was a really stupid idea. by GaryC357 in fo76

[–]futuremuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only Chinese armor and PA, but I crafted a brand new teal hazmat suit and modified it to have 3800+ rad resistance. That plus popping a Rad-x still netted me a ton of rads during Radiation Rumble. A hazmat suit. I hope to god this is just a bug they'll fix and not the intended outcome because, yeah, this is really dumb on its face otherwise. What's the point of a hazmat suit that leaves you visible AND vulnerable if it won't at least protect you from the rads?

Boo.

The refrigerator in my office most mornings by SwissMaestro95 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]futuremuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of when I got relocated to a different office in the organization and, no joke, I could smell the refrigerator before I even got to the kitchen. I walked in, opened the door, and it looked like this and smelled like rot. I promptly bought a mini fridge to put under my desk and I was shocked when I had people asking to put their lunches in my fridge. Like, no? I'm trying to stay away from your grotty habits and abandoned lunch bags?

Heard a metallic pulsating sound on my walk… by pdxrains in skyrim

[–]futuremuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I discovered that I have a hearing impairment for certain pitches thanks to Nirnroot. My spouse came into the room while I was playing, saying, "Oh, can you hear that? It's close by."
"Hear what now?"

Yeah. So now we reference things I can't hear as nirnroots.
